See you soon – 12 PM AZ time

The picture attached had the most votes and I can’t wait to show you how to paint this beautiful scene with a focus on layering and glazing.

Materials:

paper- I'll be using a 4.5X6" piece of arches watercolor paper, taped down.

paint- Bring any paints that you prefer, I'll be using the W&N limited palette of cad yellow, cad red, ultramarine blue, lemon yellow, perm rose, cerulean, indigo and sap green.

brushes- We'll be using our regular brushes, size 4 and 10 round, and also a rigger or liner brush for the thin grass details.

All classes are recorded and available to watch any time after the stream ends. The link will be live at 12 PM AZ time when the class starts. Let me know what questions you have!

You have a wonderful teaching style and make even complex paintings accessible! I am SO glad that I followed along. Many thanks.

All those zigzags in the first layer of the water: would that be a good time to use a flat brush?

Gigi Hyland

This was so much fun to paint! Learned so much. Thank you!

I am part of the replay crew, which I love your live videos. Part of me also wishes that you had a whole crew and part of me loves your talent for connecting with us even though you are in an empty room. But, Kristin!! I am still in shock over the Windsor Newton response about the tube paints. I generally just squeeze mine into my pallet and work with them over at least a few weeks before I need another squeeze…apparently to my own detriment! Now I am wondering if I should get the little solids. 🙈 I am tempted just to proceed as is for now but oh my gosh! So glad you asked them and shared that info. Also, while I am at it, I had to buy the Daniel Smith indigo because my Windsor Newton tube was too light and I could never achieve the black like effect that you get. I did this based on other commenters (such a great community you have created).

This was wonderful ! All the layers and details add so much. Thank you for all your explanations . 🙂💕

Did anybody try masking fluid for the white space in the water?
