June schedule (Patreon)

Hi everyone! I can't believe May is almost over and after Friday, we will have completed 43 paintings this year. Lifting month has been so fun and I love how many ways there are to use it! Below is the schedule and topic theme for the month of June. As a reminder, this year the 100 tiny paintings will revolve around a new technique each month, keeping the same Tuesday/Friday schedule so that we end up with 8-9 paintings per month and 100 by the end of the year.

The theme for June: Negative painting

Monday June 1st: live class 10 AM Arizona time

The link to this class will be posted here on patreon Monday morning, the day of the live class, and will be recorded and saved for anyone who can't make it.

This live class will deep dive and cover the basics of this month's technique: negative painting. The how, when and why. We'll talk about different negative painting methods, how to avoid problems, and how to fix common mistakes. We'll also cover exercises you can practice in your sketchbook and "homework" to help you improve this technique in stress free ways before you start on a painting.

Tuesday/Friday tiny paintings: Each Tuesday and Friday this month a tiny painting will be posted. The tiny painting videos include full video instructions, color mixing and reference photos and sketch outlines when applicable.

End of month live class: Saturday June 27th @ 2 PM Arizona time

At the end of the month we will paint a picture together from a reference photo. This class is also recorded and saved so you can watch back at any time. We will be voting on and choosing together a picture that uses a lot of the negative techniques we have gone over this past month. This will help us solidify what we've learned into something bigger as we walk through how to paint a piece from start to finish, live.
