Crashing wave for #49! One of my favorite ways to use negative painting is with water, especially crashing waves in the ocean. There are a few times we do wet into wet with this one, but overall it's a process of layering shadows and textures in the white foam and in the body of the wave. It's a quick one, so don't be worried about slowing it down or pausing. I can't wait to see how you do with this one! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.

Paint: For this project I am using a split primary palette- cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, perm. rose, ultramarine blue, cerulean, indigo and sap green. The colors I'm using today are - cad yellow, cad red, cerulean, and ultramarine blue.

Brushes: round 4 - Princeton

Light bulb moment! Your dry brushing technique of pushing the brush along is genius!! Love it!

Oh man, I’m behind and just getting to this one. Watched the video and I’m going to need to watch it a couple more times as I can’t wrap my brain around it🤣
