Fireworks for #53! We are starting splatter month off with a bang! Fireworks are a great way to practice splatter and we splatter a lot with this painting. First we start by saving the white of the paper by splattering masking fluid and creating our lines for the fireworks. Then we do have a wet into wet portion that goes quickly so that the colors can blend together. After that, we are layering color and splatter and just having fun. I can't wait to see how you do with this one! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.

Masking fluid: winsor and newton pigmented masking fluid for watercolor

White gouache: I'm using winsor and newton gouache, but any white paint will work!

Paint: For this project I am using a split primary palette- cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, perm. rose, ultramarine blue, cerulean, indigo and sap green. The colors I'm using today are - lemon yellow, cad yellow, cad red, perm. rose, cerulean, and indigo.

Brushes: round 4 & 10 - Princeton
