September schedule (Patreon)

Hi everyone! I can't believe August is almost over and after this Friday, we will have completed 69 paintings this year. Variegated and gradient wash month has been so fun and I loved seeing all we could do with different washes of color. Below is the schedule and topic theme for the month of September. As a reminder, this year the 100 tiny paintings will revolve around a new technique each month, keeping the same Tuesday/Friday schedule so that we end up with 8-9 paintings per month and 100 by the end of the year.

The theme for September: Blending techniques

Tuesday September 1st: live class 9 AM Arizona time

The link to this class will be posted here on patreon Tuesday morning, the day of the live class, and will be recorded and saved for anyone who can't make it.

This live class will deep dive and cover the basics of this month's technique: Blending techniques. Types of blending, how and when to use it and some tricks I have to make it as painless as possible. We'll also cover exercises you can practice in your sketchbook and "homework" to help you improve this technique in stress free ways before you start on a painting.

Tuesday/Friday tiny paintings: Each Tuesday and Friday this month a tiny painting will be posted. The tiny painting videos include full video instructions, color mixing and reference photos and sketch outlines when applicable.

End of month live class: Thursday September 24th @ 12 PM Arizona time

At the end of the month we will paint a picture together from a reference photo. This class is also recorded and saved so you can watch back at any time. We will be voting on and choosing together a picture that uses a lot of the blending techniques we have gone over this past month. This will help us solidify what we've learned into something bigger as we walk through how to paint a piece from start to finish, live.
