LFG (let’s fucking grinch)

Thortron

Calling it now, this is the no-grinch episode EDIT: It’s guddam Christmas in July

Hashtaggles

Thank god this popped up for the last couple hours of my shift Thanks Jelk!

inky

just in time to listen to during work!!!

Shy-senpai

Hear me out! For the first question! If you make the first skill being good at twitch streaming and the second skill speed running that 3 hours of crash bandicoot pays for itself. Daily streams of speed running and just go until you create a world record so good noone can top it. Meanwhile you set your three other skills investing, money management and photosynthesis. You stream for like 5 years and then retire a beloved content creator. Just tell your fans you've peaked and you're moving on. You lose all the skills but leave behind a legacy and financial stability.

Clever Innuendo

First skill: Sleep Mastery. I can nap in 20 minutes what used to take hours. I can use that time to make sure my 3 hours happen. Boom.

Ben Ramirez

Instead of Colossass, can I sell you on Skunky Brewster?

Luka Vrečar

Subquestion for the crash bandicoot = skills. Are you allowed to swap out your skills if you think you've reached a good enough level at them?

Eric Pierce

So another parrelel thinking moment. In the 1999 movie Mystery Men Which is a campy superhero movie Paul Ruben plays a character called Spleen with fart powers he just doesn't expose his butthole

Vaelyhn

I used to play PS1 games on my PC via an emulator + the actual disc. So just get a disc drive on a laptop and you're all good.

Shawn McNerney

The Sarasota jingle reminds me of the song Andy Warhol by David Bowie.

Pali Endi

Hugh-bristic 🥴

aiyana graham art

at first I was saying no to the crash bandicoot one because I feel like that requirement would just make me anxious even though its totally feasible for me, but after talking about how you'd beat it like day 2 I'm in because I'm autistic and I love to just do stuff over and over again. I'd just learn every possible thing about the game and crash bandicoot would become my new special interest. I think being multilingual would be my money making version of this cause jobs do look for bi/multilingual employees

aiyana graham art

I don't really care about being an xmen but I think colossass would be more fun if their whole butt is showing rather than like. just their asshole (what i originally pictured) because then it can be styled. its like assless chaps. turn it into fashion

Clyffe

Hey Murph, I just finished Lies of P. Definitely my favorite game from the past few years. What was your favorite area/boss? What was the hardest boss for you?

Kellyd

Love the show, love this episode...but if I send you a Goosebumps will there be more 8 bit book club?! PS hate the show never listened to it

Professor Pratt

When i got married. PlayStation ran a billboard campaign: PlayStation: It’s Like A Dozen Roses for Him. So, my new wife got me a PS1 and Crash Bandicoot 2. I don’t know about 3 hours at s time, but I certainly logged my fair share of hours (especially on some of the bonus rooms where it took you all the way to the beginning of the room rather than a checkpoint). 25 years later my wife still says she can hear Crash dying and me muttering expletives at 1am. No skill increases and I probably did become s little dumber, but boy did I love that game. The game sounds and phrases are still a part of my vocabulary.

Declan Konesky

Will Caldwell DM a trinyvale cosmic horror Grinch-sode? Or maybe a call of Cthulhu one shot from Emily?

Lia

ColossAss sounds like an AU Deadpool

Rachel the Freckled ADHDer

I would do anything Henry Cavill asked. I would not even hesitate. My loyalties rest with him. If it went sideways, I'd feign innocence and convince everyone else it was an accident. I'd then say he was there because he's going through some stuff and just wanted to be involved, and he needs support, not anger. And everyone would believe me because I have a physical disability so they always think I'm beyond pure. In case it's not obvious, I'm joking. I'd never use my disability for something like this. Using it to get people to open doors for me even though I can do it? Hell yeah. Using it to cover up a crime? Not unless it was my mother and she was justified.

Alien butt puppet

I have stayed in the grinch's cave as a bit and it was deeply unsettling

Agiddysea

R.I.P the 1st Krakoan Age.

Blubread00

The bike riders was a good movie. It was filmed in my home town of Cincinnati

Ambz

i desperately need to know if y'all have heard of the movie Osmosis Jones.. truly the germ equivalent of a universe within a snowflake

katon

I wonder if Caldwell plays dark and darker?

Shane C

Putting it out there that I would buy that Grinch hat

Shane C

Also as someone from upstate New York I immediately knew what Emily was singing

Isa Gamez

For the xmen question, there is a character from morrisons new xmen called dummy who is literally sentient gas. His gas form has to be contained in a latex suit and when it gets ripped open the characters make a fart joke. Side note, you should definitely read new xmen because it’s full of characters who’s powers kind of suck.

Keanu DRAMAFACE

Grinch is Jason VanHoorees and Crash is Freddy Kruger

ACK

Question is, does the enchanted disk itself wear out like a normal disk would?

Larry Thomsen

It’s also the same power as the main character in South Park: fractured but whole

jess?

Saw the grinch at a festival I went to a few weeks ago, he was drinking an Oberon

Zachary Smith

"I think, for me, the fantasy of X-Men is that kind of like...communal living" followed by an earnest, inspirational-in-itself dream of being inspirational as the Colossass. E Ax is the GOAT

Rob Wes

Oh I’m loving the intro

Eddie Jentz

A few years ago Marvel added a mutant who poops out ice cream, who’s named Soft Serve

Eddie Jentz

In the ColossAss world, do you look like the Spleen from Mystery Men?

xatlern

Obsessed with the idea of cryptid investigators and now I need to see y'all play a one shot that's like a procedural of like Mothman and Bigfoot trying to investigate who killed a Chupacabra or something. It would be a great excuse to play something in Monster of the Week.

Stabitha

Came here to talk about Soft Serve! But also yes New X-Men!

Connor Dub

I would definitely buy a "or hell... could be the grinch" shirr

Crumb Gunderson

*hard look in the mirror* “you ARE the wife of the party, and wife IS good”

Alex Nerini

Funny how The Boys just had a "hero" who farted webs from his extra anus recently.

FusRohNahSon

im way too attached to the greasers and must defend my honor

Melissa Shilale

put ‘I’m the wife of the party and wife is good’ on my gravestone

The Fun Yaunt

I didn’t expect Jake to go full Tony Soprano on that last one

Evan

I'm definitely reporting my killing of the Grinch, the fact that he's a monstrous humanoid creature who came into my home and attacked me means I should be able to get away with self defense, and the stunning implications of the Grinch being real might be significant enough that the specifics of my killing of him isn't really the main focus. And I need answers on Grinch physiology that can only be obtained if his body is studied

Mortimer Lunch

“He lives alone.. really confidently” so casually then followed by “oh yeah I guess you’re right.” Emily I love you so much hahahahahaha that killed me.

Babygramps

One of the skills has to be curse breaking to at least try and make some wiggle room

Bulph

In regards to slappies I feel like you guys might need to look up slapping contests on YouTube they're actually like. Unhinged and insane and does not look fun at all

Max

God I love surprise rounds

Mack N

If I was ColossAss I would for sure die in the dumbest way possible like getting skewered with a spear up my exposed asshole. no way am i taking it

Aidan Boyle

I would absolutely buy a "or hell, maybe the Grinch himself" hat

Aidan Boyle

Naddpod/Cerebro crossover audience unite???

Mack N

this ep should have been called wife worms and grinch germs

Shy-senpai

Idk. Not having to eat and seems pretty rad. I also wanna see if sunlight tastes like Sunny D.

Doonkers

You have to think about how miserable you’d be after a while though. You will never be able to stop, and it would be hellish to play the game for 3 uninterrupted hours EVERY DAY once you’ve already done everything you can in the game.

Thomas Hegarty

I feel like covering your tracks on the last one is so much worse. You have to be better off telling people and having them see what attacked you. If you try and hide it, it will look much more like a straight murder

Simon Hughes

theres a mini portable ps1, i know this cus some guy in grade 9 was playing it in class, it has a disk drive that would absoluty take the cursed copy of crash, and i dont have 3 hours a day anyway so no

Adrian Woodhouse

Become the ultimate handyman! Plumbing, engineering, electric, carpentry, welding

Filthy Guppy

Release the grinch himself hat!!!! (And the filthy guppy cut)

Filthy Guppy

Jake big brained the crash bandicoot 3hr/day scenario. Absolute killshot.

Gogs

Em wants to be Fart Wolverine 97! “I suck and I’m a little raunchy” He such a tool in the X-Men cartoon.

Ellie Cerceaux

Tattle on Cavill and your The Snitcher

Nile

Caldwell's deep knowledge of the Grinch Lore is. So funny honestly.

nandrusin

Don't forget if you an X-man you have the whole societal mutant issue!

2026-09-05 07:00 Related to the “X-Men whose power is farts” topic. There is a very minor X-Men character whose code name is Soft Serve, whose mutation is that her body is a portal to the “ice cream dimension” (the same way that Cyclops’ eyes are a portal to a plane of concussive force). The character Forge described it as “the best damn ice cream [he’d] ever have”. The location of her portal just happens to be near her ass. I’m SO sure that the character is totally NOT her creator’s barely disguised shit fetish.

Zoop

Is peeing an interruption that restarts the clock for crash bandicoot 2?

Zeon Liberation

Paul Reuben’s in Mystery Men is The Spleen, whose farts make people faint. “Parallel thinking” indeed. 😛

Isa Gamez

Yes love cerebro!!

Excelsidorks!

this surprise round's spit take occured at the detailing of the Terrible Tooter

Aster Ellis

If I were ColossAss I'd just change the way I use my powers. I'd fart into a tank to compress it ahead of time and use it for chemical weaponry, then train in martial arts with an arc at any of the clandestine paragovernmental/criminal/mystic orders Marvel has to offer. I would wear a cloak to cover my ass when not needed but my stealth missions would always be ruined, as the clap of my ass cheeks would alert the guards

MeekoCHAOS The Raccoon Boi

I just need to know is if the skill learning based on how well I can learn a skill? because if its 3 hours of how much I usually learn then no cuz I take forever to learn skills. if its like sims skill building where it's just time = amount learned then yeah. I'll just play crash bandicoot without a memory card like I used to as a kid, you would think it was the only game I had with how much I would play the same levels every day.

♡ Pixie ♡

I’ve loved Pocketsss for so long!! I didn’t know that they had a patreon

Katie P.

The Colos-Ass is 100% The Spleen from Mystery Men

Ajax

I hope greasers become part of the surprise round mythology

Kizzy

which episode did the love of the grinch begin

Kizzy

also i LOVE the portrait of the lady on fire references

Tavitafish

When i was 5 I took the tip of a shovel to the face (right above my eye) and it was super gnarly. It cut all the way to my skull. So if slappies is shovels that's a 1 hit ko

Robert

I’m studying for the bar exam right now and the last scenario was great - I treated it like a little essay question on self-defense

Samuel Ryan

One of my skills for round 1 would be electrical engineering. Be sure that I can create a portable PS1 with a chargeable 4 hour battery, so I can Bandicoot wherever I am Another skill would be the skill to easily find 3 free hours a day

Colin Kilzer

Need a powerscaler to tell me if Colos-ass is an Omega level mutant or if they could be

Colin Kilzer

The grinch in the last prompt is definitely an escaped genetic experiment. So you cannot expose the grinch body if you value your life.

Colin Kilzer

Im saying you avoided the horror movie because you fought and won and now youre in a political/espionage thriller action movie ala Jason Bourne

Grass

Sofie Bikes shit

Aaron Aposhian

While you’re in Utah staying at the Grinch Cave, pls do a live show in Salt Lake😌🙏🏼.

Jessica

Here's why it is $20 - The rental is available from $19.57 per night (to honor the book's original release in 1957

Adam!!!!!

as far as i know, it started in c1. there was a few episode bit whenever an enemy was close to dead they were gonna "take them to the grinch". unless it started earlier in 8BBC

Bulbarat

For the first one, you could maximize your time by playing from 9pm-12am and immediately continue playing 12am-3am. Tackle 2 days in one sesh and then sleep till like 9 or 10 then you don't have to do it again till the next day since you already did today's sesh

Bulbarat

Also, you could easily get the world record speed run if you actually tried

Michael McDougall

I'm finally listening to it and had to make sure that this was said. I'm a little surprised that Murph and Caldwell didn't think of it, they both seem like Paul Reubens fans.

Liz

The way I IMMEDIATELY recognized the Saratoga jingle 😂 Emily Axford is truly the pride of the NY Capital District

Amanda Z

I would KILL for Naddpod Grinch merch, or hell, Surprise Round merch in general

The Overthinker

I would do slappies. No hesitation. Either I win, am a champion, and have a bunch of new friends, or I lose and I gave it my all. I personally think slappys is a joke game, that this is them hazing the new guy.

Matt A

It started in the fight against the frost giants when they were protecting the wall of Frostwind. That was the original “take them to the Grinch” bit and Murph even says so on a short rest, after they kill all the Hollow Goddies. He compares Emily randomly deciding that Akarot had a vest to when they randomly found that Grinch bit mid-episode.

Meredith

I just want to also weigh in and say I would buy a hat that said "Or hell, it could be the Grinch himself" SO FAST. I would wear it everyday.

v_squared (Vanessa)

Not me jumping outta my skin at 7:30 am from the intro sound effects at full blast 😵

Cooper Erikson

For the True Grinch just call animal control.

Justin Atols

As soon as I head farting was my superpower the answer was instantly yes

Emily

Hey I don’t know if anyone from the 2 crew reads these comments but Gary: check out the bloom app I found it while snooping through Reddit personal finance This app teaches you financial literacy and you can start investing - I personally started investing $10 a week You can buy part of stocks, etf, yields & more I’m an accountant in real life & I tend to be very skeptical and wary when recommending financial products & apps to people. Anyway; hope this helps!

Cass DeMarco

God I forgot Saratoga has a little song 😭

Georgia

the fabled origins of wife worm.....

Rob H.

That's what I'm saying! I don't care what my powers are, I'm not signing on to defend world that hates and fears me. That's too much like my real job.

nandrusin

Man I just totally forgot how to spell when I wrote this didn't I lol what's your real job if you don't mind my asking?

Emma Henson

The x men question, they are just describing "The Spleen" from the movie "Mystery Men".

trinacicc

re: coloss-ass has no one watched the absolutely perfect UK series Misfits?

Summer Tribe

I think the person who wrote the x men doesnt know anything about the x-men. The catch of x-men being real and you being one is that that life is fucking torture

Summer Tribe

That was my thought as well. You'd need at least 2 skills just to counter act how much of an actual curse that is.

Summer Tribe

It's really bizarre that they're totally overlooking that being an x-man is alteady a life ruining catch. The power being fucking stupid is nothing in comparison to the idea that you're going to be killed by your boyfriend's girlfriend's dad's clone from another dimension when you're 23, then when you're resurrected your own friends will insist on putting you into forced procreation camp

Summer Tribe

And a back up disc. And never be on a flight or on the road for too long. And camping is probably a no go. And you need a back up battery if there's a black out. Then you need to justify to people why you're wasting power on crash bandicoot 2 during a black out. Also you need an incredible coping mechanism for playing the same game for 3 hours without break every day for your entire life. I can't believe anybody is entertaining this, you need like 2 or 3 skills just to compensate for the task of playing crash that consistently

James (plz make more trinyvale eps)

All I have to say, is that Murph hit the jackpot when he found Emily. And tbh, same for Emily w/ Murph. They’re as close to a perfect couple as you can get. Not to sound parasocial or anything, but we are all lucky that these 2 found each other and got together. There’s a good chance naddpod wouldn’t exist had they not gotten together years ago.

LS

It was Murphy

Summer Tribe

oh that wasn't user submitted? whack. Cause really he should know better

The Grinch (feral)

Obviously I took the grinch deal, and tbh it’s not that bad. You go through a lot of lint rollers tho

Sami Kerwin

leave them a book with a hand written note on the title page: “Even a worm will turn.”

Shane Murphy

Okay I need a ruling. If I choose writing as one of my skills, do I come out of my Bandicoot time with three hours of copy or is my skill level increasing

Shane Murphy

Because if I could cut my work day in half

Summer Tribe

Idk who 3 hours uninterrupted could be possible for. Every day. That's insane.
