The Fun Yaunt

My Thursday night just got a LOT better 🤩

Kellyd

I'm with Jake on Bloda, I'm going to krogers, assuming this is one of those weird Trader Joe's things I'm unwilling to understand, and never speaking of it

Sam Ninegar

“Ivo Kintobor” / “Ovi Robotnik” After his Robotnik name blunders in the Gex one-shot, Murph just popping off a couple of lowercase L’s for himself here. Big whoops.

Frisky Macaw

I NEED an 8 Bit Book Club episode on Sonic Underground!

Hornleaf

I have a wood shop and I can tell you with confidence that you could not eat an oak door with only a fork and knife in any reasonable amount of time.

Weston Thorman

All this MTG talk makes me want some kind of Magic mixed bag

Kate-Rose

I work in film in NZ where Aqua Mans has just produced like 3 or 4 projects here (I worked on one) and from what I’ve heard round the water cooler the first surprise round is not that far off

Andy Johnson

How did they get Stone Cold to come on the show?! So cool, good job Murph!

Jake Alcott

Medford yearns for the band of boobs

aiyana graham art

an extremely fatal flaw of the door question is that it's made of oak. some actual power tools have trouble getting through it. your serrated knife? done. your apple peeler? Just scraping against it pointlessly. there's no way you could even make saw dust from oak without actual wood working tools. and you definitely can't bite it lol

aiyana graham art

you could probably take a serrated knife and apple peeler to pine or another softer wood but even then you'd be in hell

Bobby Moynihan

1) It's October. It's time for the return to Twilight Sanctorum. 2) Happy Birthday Murph. 27 is gonna be a big year!!!

Colin Walker

Punk'n Idaho? Shit, Caldwell. That got me.

Derrick Collins

If I could sit in a room and avoid GenPop, I’m eating that door. I will figure it out lol

Hannah

i have such vivid memories of watching my brother play the sonic werewolf game

Mountain Dew Or Crab Juice

'A glass of sawdust everyday' a week later you're in the prison hospital with a case of terminal constipation

Moonlit Ghost

"Magic is real and Yoda is blue" has the same energy as "magic is real and so is my frog"

Moonlit Ghost

I'd listen to a mix bag about MtG and Emily going crazy over her favorite cards

Katherine

My M&M wish is to be able to eat wood like an apple for my upcoming prison sentence

Gearbox

Now you have me looking at the weight of wood doors and how many grams/day of wood you'd need to consume for it to be worth it. William Osman's "how many grams of sawdust can you put in a rice crispy before people notice" video is a great reference for how much wood people can reasonably eat with prep...

mrsthemonarch

Last week I learned: Trader Joe's is one of the few chain grocery stores that is zealously on the lookout for mystery shoppers, and removes any who are taking photos.

Hornleaf

Cutting directly could be hard, and I agree it would be near impossible to do, but it is an open-pored wood meaning that if you were going to try it the coleslaw method would probably be the way to go.

Spencer

For the next Surprise Round, they should have all four cast members come in with one prompt and then have one user-submitted one as a bonus

Babbles The Clown

In regards to wild Sonic lore, let's not forget that one game that has an ending where evil Sonic (Shadow the Hedgehog ) kills himself with his own guns after you play as him for the entire game

Hammy

I know there wasn’t a grinch in this episode, but I could feel his presence lurking

Maya B

I’d be worried it was a weird little monkey they dyed blue

Sam

29:32 the way Murph says “motherfucker” made me lol

Colton D

For a standard size oak door that is 80”x36”x1” , the volume would be about 0.05 meters cubed. The density of oak wood is around 700kg per meter cubed. Therefore the door would weigh around 33kg (or 72.75 lbs) If you ate an equal amount of the door every day for two years, you would have to eat about 45 grams of door per day. Thus, for the door option to be worth it, you would have to know that you are able eat more than 45 grams (or 1.6 oz) of wood per day consistently. (That amount is about equivalent in weight to two nature valley bars) Do with this information what you will.

Hammy

Another too clever Caldwell zinger that flies under the radar

Michael Beck

You guys need to watch the Snapcube Sonic 2006 fandub on youtube. As a Sonic fan it is the best way to absorb that game and understand all the insanity

Colton D

In response to what Jake said about what it would take for it to be worth it for him. For the door-eating to take 6 months, you would have to eat 180 grams of door per day. (About equivalent in weight to 8 nature valley bars)

Robert

The door question was tough just because 2 years isn’t that long. But the same question with a 10 year prison sentence I think makes it harder.

Colin Walker

Man's wit is as sharp as his jawline.

Bryce Peterson

I’m never sure when the image of a pants-less toddler peeing near some trees will suddenly pop into my head, but then the Puddle of Mudd reference shows up. Great episode!

Liza

I agree

Tyler Board

I had to pause this episode and watch the Punkd videos mention on YouTube

BillyBatson

Hahaha I love that I'm on the council of elders and I get this nonsense 🤣 😂 😆 !!!! Love it !

Grunto, The Godly

Was expecting The Grinch to pop up when Caldwell mentioned the green drink that Mamoa ordered

Glenn D AKA Mcdoogins

Caldwell! Yellow M&M has a big peanut inside not an almond! Your haters are feasting on m&ms right now.

Elandriel

24:51 The M&Mplications

Ursa

re: sonic media, i NEED yall to check out the song One Ok Rock made for the newest sonic game, called Vandalize. bcos imo it's right in that perfectly confusing but not bad choice. the song is amazing, i already listened to & love One Ok Rock, they put on the best live show i've ever seen! but go listen to Vandalize & tell me you would ever assume it was made for sonic unless you already knew! the uncensored version obviously bcos the difference between the normal song & what actually got put in the game is hilarious

Ollie

When I was growing up, my dad would always joke that he was going to start a business called “thunder pants” which is the thunder shirt for dogs but pants. He thought this was hysterical and would make himself laugh every time. It’s the only thing I can think of whenever I hear someone mention thunder shirts.

Charlotte G

“He does have flesh arms” is sending me

Cooper Erikson

I never noticed it before but now all of the M&M mascots terrify me

Li I

Somewhere in my mom’s house i have a plush doll of Yoda as Stitch that i got from Eurodisney. Tragically it’s green, but still very topical to current naddpod discourse 😂

Jojo

How much door would a doorchuck chuck, if a doorchuck could chuck door -to get time off of its prison sentence?

Mary W

My dad made a group of friends back on theforce.net forums in the early 2000s... they were called the Blue Yoda Society... what does Caldwell know?

Elijah E

No way $100 is enough to clear out a CVS M&M supply

Simon Hughes

I feel like the "can you eat wood" search broke Google, cus you can use wood chips and sawdust to smoke meats, but you don't literally just sprinkle it on the meat, unless your trying to eat a door that is

Slappy Dave

Eating oak wood is poison, other woods you could maybe do but oak has a lot of toxins to humans

Tim G

Please please please look at this. It’s a real grinch costume scenario

Toblerone. jpg

well, murph did suggest adding another 100 of his own money but even then, probably not enough

Gearbox

So doing some math, assuming a solid oak door weighs 67 lbs (for a door of average size) you'd need to eat about .36 lbs of door a day to get out of jail in 6 months. 3-4 pounds of food per day total is pretty common for Americans, so you're replacing a good chunk of your daily food with door (assuming you're replacing instead of adding.) it is low enough that if you ground it into a fine sawdust you could probably mix it in with sauces and pastas and stuff without it being *too* intrusive, but still enough that if you just tried to eat it straight you'd have a terrible time.

Papa Taylor

Murph saying “I’m not going to a second location” has me dying laughing.

riley chalk

From Google "To convert 60 pounds of sawdust to volume, you need to know the bulk density of the sawdust, which is typically around 10-20 pounds per cubic foot; using a middle value of 15 pounds per cubic foot, 60 pounds of sawdust would roughly equal 4 cubic feet." I could absolutely eat a door in a year.

Mark

Obviously I'm just going to eat a bunch of termites before hand and eat the door absolutely no problem

Nicole Jordan

Listening to this post McDonald’s deep dive I can only dream of a rot topic sonic the hedgehog
