Jonathan

Reid

JR Lonergan

She's back! Hopefully the 2 Crew is safe and well

Cahill B

Hell ya dung court at 10:43 pm lets gooo

austinoxner

Aarakocra in the title means you know this one's gonna be chock full of furrowed Murph brow.

Hannah

My thoughts are with all of you in LA ❤️

Nick Neverman

Our city pigeon lord out in full force

eliza sleepker

I hope you guys, your families, and critter country are all staying safe!! 💖

Karen Corcoran

Hollywood Sunset fire would have been the closest one to them and it is contained. We lost one of our best museums yesterday and my coworker who works out of the office is there lost his house on the same day. It's been rough. Spent the whole day scrambling reassigning employees to make sure everyone keeps their jobs even if their reporting station burned down.

jackalope503

Aw hell yea Justice Scrumper!

Renee Wild

Siobhan FULL NAME drop????

Daniel A.

I can hear his eyes narrowing

Nick Lerche

Axford calling it a Sand Timer is peak naddpole shit

Maya S

It's been known, she's asked people only call her Siobhan though and not use her first name

A. Lee. S

Stay safe. If you need to take a break, take it! We’ll all understand ❤️

Sean Boyle

Not sure about "Legendary Reaction" but if I remember correctly the stat block for Tiamat says she gets a reaction for each of her heads each round. She gets 5 reactions per round.

Jor Elare

So, as it relates to DM responsibility for player turn length, I do feel (as a biased forever DM) that a lot of this stuff gets put on the DM's plate that kind of makes the game less fun to run. Like yeah, you've got to be the bad guy sometimes and that's that, but to also be handling the meta-table social stuff and having to sidebar with players and ask them to go faster? Kind of sucks from a responsibility standpoint. I like DMing, I don't love having to be table-dad too

diintz

25 NPCs guy definitely played fire emblem and really wanted to try incorporating it into their campaign LOL

Eee.eeeeeeeeee

Im hoping this means everyone is safe! Yay!

Jonathan

Shout out to Hoid’s friend if that’s a cosmere reference

Witpending

House of Mirth is amazing! I finished it last year and was dying to talk about it with someone.

MsMagey

Siobhan!!!

Papa Taylor

Wait, so D&D isn’t about stealing girlfriends? I feel like Campaign 1&2 was about stolen partners. Lol

virginia

Re: the slow-ass wizard, I have a proven strategy. My family used to play cribbage a lot and my dad would take forEVER on his turns. My mom and my sister started bringing a second deck of cards to the table and playing a two-person card game together on his turns. It pissed him off and was hilarious. I suggest playing a silent card game while you wait for the wizard to take their turn. Crazy 8s, golf, gin rummy, etc.

Mikel

Does everyone else sing along with the high "dungeoEOeoEOn" part? So glad to see Siobhan back ❤️

Hammy

That angry mob icebreakers bit slayed me

Shane Murphy

Hey are you all good with the Fires? I'm Australian I don't know about the layout of L.A Is the 2dio safe? What of the cats? The pottery studio... Dear god the PO Box!

Zanna

I hope yall are doing okay with the fires atm. Thinking of you. (I was thrilled af to hear Siobhan)

Ro

Hope everyone in the 2crew and beyond is staying safe!

ACK

Seconding others' messages to stay safe!

Ursa

i hope everyone & the neighborhood critters are safe from the fires! i relate to the first case so much x-x when i played a wizard with a complicated set of interacting magic items, also as the only note taker my turns would be to the point & prepared. then all that effort felt wasted when our cleric who had the same spells for over an irl year would take 10+ minutes for their turn complete with a cigarette break in the middle T-T

Samuel Gray

The “DnD isn’t about stealing girlfriends” one is basically just Jake and Amir: Table Read!

Gustavius

"Dragon with a G" Hahaha

Declan Konesky

New year new bailiff! I like this rotation thing you're doing w your bailiffs. Fresh. This guy's aight. Bring him back

S Gee

Is everyone and their critters safe with the fires and air quality issues??

Blargh Blarghmoomoo

If anyone had said "Do you feel good about killing my guy?" I would have replied "Hell, yeah! The monsters are here to try to kill you guys" On forgetting the legendary actions, I have been GM'ing for close to 40 years and I still forget stuff like that once in a while. You could just play it like an anime character saying "Now I have to get serious and go all out on you guys"

Lindsey

Much love to all, hope you're doing okay

Blaize Gordon

I've been waiting for Siobhan to be back on the show for so long! Hope all is well over on your end and that everyone is safe

Adam Kepper

That absolutely should be a Tim Robinson skit 😂. Before Murph even mentioned him I pictured it as an "I think you should leave" skit.

Alex Herndon

What is the Over/Under for Lowlies in a dungeon court episode?

Galen Graham, Local Talent

hope y’all are doing okay!! you should really read count of monte cristo if your middle school didn’t make you already, it’s a classic for a reason!

thatoneguy

Hope you're all safe, glad to finally have Siobhan back! Can't wait for the regency adventures

ThacoIsWacko

I've forgotten about lots of things on lots of baddies on lots of occasions. Usually, I just join in with the players, razzing the baddie for being inept. Maybe someday, I'll find a good way to submit and everyone can hear the tale of "Sample Lich".

ThacoIsWacko

Roll20 rolls can be done in front of the table. You either have to use actual dice buttons, or you can set "always", "query", or "never" for GM rolls in NPC sheet settings.

Pyt

I don’t think that the DM used the legendary action as a reaction in the action economy, I think they just ment that the player finished their turn and the boss as retaliation used their legendary action.

A.J.

jealous red flag boyfriend has really strong murph energy from that episode of jake and amir called tableread

katie potato

Hey, hope you guys are all alright! I loved this ep, so I'm wondering, will there be a short rest for this ep?

Babbles The Clown

"D&D is not about stealing girlfriend" is one of the funniest & saddest things I have ever heard & is for sure living rent free in my head for a minute.

Reclaimer-087

regarding the legendary reaction, I think they should have said like "oh sorry guys I've been forgetting about their legendary actions" but other than that they're good imo. the monster was homebrewed so the rules aren't going to be exact, so I'm ok with it being a reaction even though official monsters aren't that way. it's just part of the fun of discovering a unique enemy, but there could've been slightly more grace in regard to communication. the comment the player made did seem antagonistic, like there should ALWAYS be the expectation that your character could die and to me the issue was not that big a deal

Xander Jarowey

This seems more likely. Also I'm fairly certain they changed them to be reactions and not legendary actions in one DnD rules.

Xander Jarowey

They have changed legendary actions into reactions for updated stat blocks over the last couple years. They're literally reactions now.

Brianna

I believe it’ll be an unrelated “mixed bag” for the Patreon until the new campaign starts!

Frank

I really hope y’all are safe amid these fires 💚

AlkaneJelky

I need that "Dnd is not bout stealing girlfriends" dude play a game with taruk, blasting grandma, and the dm shall be the guy who had a crush on the player's girlfriend from early episodes.

Savannah Harvey

wait a second you guys joked about this being a lost episode and it was on spotify earlier but now it’s not on spotify am i losing my mind???

Chas Pridgen

No you’re not crazy I came to ask if it wasn’t on Spotify 😂

Savannah Harvey

okay thank you i’m glad to know that i haven’t fully lost the plot hahaha

FlaredHydra

Aarakocra? More like Aara-cuck-ra, amirite?….I’ll see myself out.

Tabaxi Druid Sarah

Sometimes I wish I could submit something to D&D Court. But then I hear things like " D&D isn't about stealing girlfriends" being yelled at a table of 10 people and I realized that my friends and I have never and will never have something insane enough to qualify for the show happen. But this was truly a top tier episode. I'm dying of laughter.

nick pomeroy

For whatever reason this episode has disappeared from my spotify naddpod feed.

Dag Swanials

Has anyone heard from the NADDPOD TEAM? Is everyone okay?

Rain

Same!!

Ol’ Jazzy

I had to come here to confirm I wasn’t crazy. I saw this episode on my feed on Overcast and then it disappeared! 😭

Doublelink

This episode isn’t on Apple Podcasts where I usually listen to my podcasts. I hope you guys in LA are doing well.

Corey Brown

I have the same problem. At least I know I’m not the only one.

Not Another D&D Podcast

Do you listen through the NaddPod+ Feed? Or just the regular NaddPod feed? Trying to figure out if this is an RSS issue on Patreon's end. ~Caldwell

AlbireoRising

I've used the same strategy for That One Friend who always takes forever. It either speeds them up or helps pass the time. :)

Not Another D&D Podcast

This seems to be a Patreon RSS Error, I'm filing a ticket to see if we can get it re-added! ~Caldwell

Savannah Harvey

no worries!! the fact that it was this specific episode where it was dubbed a lost episode is hilariously serendipitous 😅 hope the LA 2 crew is all okay!

Doublelink

I’m only subbed to the Naddpod Patreon Exclusives feed. Ok. I just checked again and it’s there now! Thanks for the quick fix.

Joshua the Safoshua

Same here. I never saw it there at all, but I do see the adventure book theater

Not Another D&D Podcast

We are all good at the moment. Our houses, families and critters are all safe and secure. Thank you for checking in! ~Caldwell

Nikolaus Cox

Caldwell! New dad here! You don’t have to clip your child’s nails! There’s a New Zealand brand called Haka that make baby nail grinders, battery powered! And these have settings for intensity, and my son doesn’t mind me grinding his nails AT ALL!

Old Dirty Blastoise

Replying to long turners! I play a Sorcerer in a Vecna campaign, and without fail, our Barbarian takes 3 minutes to figure out what he’s going to do. “Do I Rage? I don’t know…” sort of thing. I’ve responded by one of the mentioned solutions, the “be as fast as possible with my turn”. It’s been a great exercise for me to REALLY plan ahead, have Action/BA spell combos handy, and create fun descriptions of my spells ahead of sessions to speed things along.

Rain

It appears to be back now??

Nova

Since the “D&D isn’t about stealing girlfriends!” case mentioned they were playing 4e I’m really curious how long ago it was and how old everyone was.

Joshua the Safoshua

It's back for me! Thanks Caldwell, a truly beautiful support ticket submitted!

hellohallo

I read the Count of Monte Cristo recently and was worried that the movie might not be as cool as the book, but now I'm going to watch it!!

Another Sam

Will I make a shirt that says "dungeons & dragons is not about stealing girlfriends?" Yes, absolutely

Becca Dubord

Yessss Sioban, House of Mirth is one of my favorite books - Edith Wharton is my favorite author!!!!! I hope everyones safe !

Tony

I have not laughed so hard in my LIFE as I did at the "D&D is not about stealing girlfriends" story oh my GOD

xelamorph

"D&D IS NOT ABOUT STEALING GIRLFRIENDS" would make an excellent t-shirt and the boyfriend's punishment is seeing someone wear it

Transfemmes4murph

one of the best dungeon courts ever, thank you judges and jerf

Summer, Autumn Eladrin

Hearing this episode makes me feel better about the NPC buddies I haven't been able to kill yet in the campaign I'm running

Summer, Autumn Eladrin

It seems like a lot of people are having this issue with Patreon RSS feeds. This podcast showed up fine in my feed but another one I subscribed to on Patreon hasn't updated since Thursday.

Summer, Autumn Eladrin

I think it's a patreon issue because another podcast I subscribe to through the Patreon RSS feed also never updated

Blue Bee

People who don't know their character sheets are my biggest pet peeve in ttrpgs, you have literally the easiest job at the table and you're still not prepared, it's insane to me.

Yuncle Ben

So happy Caldwell is back!

Matthew Sands

The narrative way to do it would be to make up a second form for the bad guy and have them make a dramatic declaration that now they're taking the party seriously. Weighted clothes hit the ground, whatever

Sand Panda

Agreed. It is my only request after a session is to get familiar with your character and what they could do.

Robert

OMG.... "We found the assassin" Had me laughing soo hard... then "D&D isn't for stealing girlfriends" literally gave me a asthma attack.... holy shit...

Jourdan

I thought Jake got promoted to judge and Caldwell was gonna be the baliff

Jack el destripador

Glad Caldwell made the House of Murph joke cause that’s what I heard when Siobhan said it

Joshua Brofford

I don’t think the DM used the legendary “reaction”. I think he used the legendary action after the players turn. He didn’t specify that he went first. I don’t think he did anything wrong

Excelsidorks!

"Hey Alexa, buy a copy of House of Murph"

Steve

Did anyone else get some ASMR effect from Siobhan reading the oath?

Evan Fleischer

Playing off of what Emily said here — it’d be fun to try and construct a one-shot based off of all the cases that have come before D&D Court — just this Frankenstein-like assemblage of “?????”

James Drenning

Been following nadpodd since episode 1 C1, its an amazing show. I dont agree with them politically but 99% its never talked about so it doesnt matter.

Darby Tyler

What is the point of this comment? Are you trying to troll and start an argument with someone?

James Drenning

No im expressing how i like the show. The comment is directed at u. Feel free to ignore. Whats ur favorite moment from campaign one?

Brooke

Obsessed with the House of Mirth plug; it really is a good book

Sami

I was coming here to make the exact same point lol. There are a few brands available in the UK, and it's SUCH a godsend!!

Nikolaus Cox

A total godsend! Glad to know there’s options in the UK - baby nail grinders should become common knowledge, considering how traumatic clipping a baby’s nails can be.

KSM101

Indiana Jones boulder punching just reminded me of resident evil 5 and I pictured Indiana "chris" Jones-field and I couldn't stop laughing at work

Paxton

Murph is very good at explaining things while being funny

Whitney Hempsey

Not Murph referencing good ol’ Sildar from the LMoP campaign. That brought back some memories.

ThacoIsWacko

When I have a player taking their time, I totally fly through my turns to show how it's done, in the hardest passive aggressive I can.

Lilli of the bog

I love how Siobhan has a secret English first name and a secret Irish last name.

Alan C

revisiting this episode to hear that legendary "dnd is not about stealing girlfriends"

Summer Tribe

blud it hasn't even been a year

Alan C

Ik but it was stuck in my head and I had to hunt for the episode lmaoo

riskutforthebriskut

idk if not wanting to take an untested, unapproved vaccine makes you anti vax lmao more like anti untested drugs in an at-risk population

HeyYeah

you don't deserve a peaceful life

riskutforthebriskut

yea man you're probably right, good thing i dont live a peaceful life as is hahaha no harm no foul i guess

Winterbat

D&D is not about stealing girlfriends…. Good lord 😂😂

Tosha Diamond-Huey

i love how they tell people to call jake something and then forget they did that and are so confused why everyone is doing the same bit lmao

Compound27

God I hope there was a follow-up to the flirtatious aarakocra to see if they are still dating lol my god dnd court always reminds me that these are my people (judges & the low boi)

Samuel Gray

I don’t know if anyone with any semblance of power over the situation will read this but this one has the wrong thumbnail. Or at least an inconsistent one
