It is kind of impossible to describe. “Ham” is a misnomer. Legally, I don’t think it’s even allowed to be called ham, and the packaging says “John Taylor’s pork roll.” Flavor-wise, it’s probably closer to spam than ham. Texturally, it’s like a chewier Canadian bacon but somehow also softer?

NAP ADVICE: the BEST nap you can take is roughly 26 minutes long— I always set a timer around 28-30 minutes depending on how long it’ll take me to go under, and it’s hard getting up sometimes but if you get up at that 26 minute mark I never feel sluggish only refreshed! For Emily or other hard-to-nap folks, I’m no expert, but I’ve always found typical sleep aids helpful: sleep masks (light keeps your brain up), breath counting (i count down from 50, in 50, out 49, in 48 etc. then at 25, in out 25, in out 24, etc. if you feel like moving or adjusting, do so then start over at 50! it also helps to have a little pause between each breath, it’s naturally how you breathe), and trying to recreate normal sleep conditions i.e. sleeping in your bed or certain position. a nap is like a meditation, the goal is just to get your mind to calm down! hope this helps at all <3

I have one recommendation for napping and that’s to get a pitbull. You will never sleep better then when you have 40-60 pounds of muscle snoring on your chest. You may be thinking that the snoring will wake you up. But my pittie snoring works as a white noise device

I know saying this is a downer, but the cat feeding neighbourhood bums me out a little. Not that one person keeping strays alive is ruining the environment, but roaming cats across the country kill up to 4 billion birds and 22 billion small mammals per year. They are the single biggest cause of bird mortality in the US. If you want to reduce that impact a little, please throw clown collars on them, make them visible to birds and then they look like goofy little clowns.

For the Christmas lovers, I'm a Grinch. There are SO many people that kill themselves every year around Christmas due to not having anyone or what have you, and no one cares. People are focused on Snow, presents and singing. You can sing any time of year, you can give presents any time of the year. What makes it so special? And for the Christians it's not even historically relevant, your dates are off. It's sad.

Guys, on the home fries front here's the deal, I work at an restaurant and I prefer my home fries nice and crispy so I make them such, While other people will serve them soggy and sad which I get mad about so it all depends on the cook who serves them. I personally will not serve someone homefries unless they are crunchy on most sides.

Caldwell, i know you probably wont see this, but if you like a grilled cheese with jelly, i IMPLORE YOU to slather a little almond butter or a nice textured peanut butter like teddy brand. A nice crusty sourdough, a thin but noticeable spread of nut butter, a tart jelly like a blackberry or mixed berry, and a nice sharp cheddar. Its unreal!!

I recently developed a strategy for falling asleep that's been pretty effective and might help with napping. I believe Emily has said she's not a visual person so she might have to modify it. I try to follow the thread of random imagery that pops up in my subconscious. Don't focus too hard, just try to tune into the flow of absurdity. It also works if you follow absurd ideas instead of images. You can't force it, though, just let it happen to you. Does that make sense? Any time I've tried it I fall asleep within a matter of minutes

Hues and Clues is fun, but it definitely isn't the kind of game I'd bust out at a holiday party. It's a good one to bust out at the occasional game night, though! (For what it's worth, Jake, no one else knew what to do with my clue of "chartreuse," and apparently denim and jean are not precisely the same.) My dad sent us an article about how Thanksgiving is the cheapest time to travel internationally, so we may be showing gratefulness in Lisbon this year... Take Thanksgiving back!

I know I’m way late but I wanted to give you a game-changing salad: take your casserole dish and lay a layer of bread in it. Roast a whole chicken on top of the bread. Remove the chicken, let it rest then carve it up. Take the baked/fried bread that was cooked in the chicken grease and toast it up in a pan to get it uniformly crisp. Fill a bowl with arugula and other salad fixings (we like radish, carrot shreds, sliced onions). Cut the bread into croutons. Toss chicken and croutons in with dressing of choice (we either make fresh dressing or use Newmans oil and vinegar). DELISH
