The 2 Crew take a break from revving their motorguycles to review 1993's Biker Mice From Mars! These radical rodents love hot dogs, root beer, and tragic backstories!

Comments

Alex A.

rats ride loose 😈😈

Kevin Alman

Hey yeah! Do they say which episode(s)? I like to watch before I listen

Evelyn!

I was hoping for this!!

Kellyd

Can't abide by the baseball slander, go tigers Edit: wow there was also explicit Detroit slander, go tigers x2

Dave 3D Art

Happy to hear the Biker Mice on Mixed Bag. Surprised that it came before ROM Space Knight.

Izzy

The first episode

allscratch

the first episode from 1993 (importantly, not the 2006 revival)

Clever Innuendo

There are twisted rumors that somewhere out there, art of Jake the MotorGuycle exists...

JustAce

I love surprise mixed bag posts

Tony Trig

This has, for years, been my no one knows this, it’s perfect reboot fodder. It’s trash but is awesome. So glad to hear the Biker Mice join the NADDPOD universe

CommodoreBlue

I vaguely remember the “motor-guy-cle” bit, but I had no idea it would one day be a Mixed Bag.

Shane C

Please call the tournament “Mutant Radness”

Nicholas

Wait until they find out about Carbine the female mouse.

Alex Mayhem

Jesus Christ I would actually die, I am obsessed with Zim

Aaron Burnell

Oh what I wouldn't give to still have my action figures from back in the day. There is tiny chance I have at least one in a box. I will report back (sadly I'm pretty sure it's not Throttle)

Lea Hynes

Funnily enough, I have given my rats sashimi before. And the pea fishing thing is very commonly done when keeping rats, they go crazy for it. They'll eat anything, to be fair, even grapes and chocolate. They can't be stopped.

rosebramblewolf

I haven't seen the episode but I feel confident in saying Vinny said "bachelor pad" to communicate to Charlie that he was single.

Luke

The songs they were parodying/referencing were 1: Gene Chandler: “Duke of Earl” (changed to Duke of Oil) 2: The Beatles: “With a Little Help From my Friends”

Vonvonvon

Can y’all all please do a one-shot in a 90s cartoon world. I’m sure it’d be a radical ¡Ay, caramba! tubular time.

Patrick B

Is this the first Mixed Bag they’ve done where they watched something good?

Martian

Welp, time to write a book called "If you Give a Rat some Sashimi"

jackalope503

Can’t wait to dig into this episode while splitting an order of nigiri with my swarm of rats

Zoop

My hs cafeteria had an ice cream bar vending machine that looked a bit like a claw machine except that it had a suction cup at the end and if you slammed your body into it at just the right moment it would drop your ice cream into the slot but think it had fully fumbled and give you a second one for free

Randy

Anyone else clock that in the fuck marry kill, Jake implies he’s the bottom in the fuck scenario. Just some lore I noticed haha

Randy

Maybe the biker mice and fish plutarkians team up for the even bigger bad of the cat villains

Summer Tribe

As MtG players i hope they noticed that aetherdrift and Bloomburrow are still in standard and (while probbaly quite bad) a biker mice from mars themed deck is quite possible (may even be buoyed by the upcoming space travel set)

thiswayjose

Emily! “With a Little Help from my Friends” is a Beatles song! Not Billy Joel 15:39

Mickey Mars

Y'all NEED to get in touch with travis mcelroy if you do a tier ranking

Ilana Galpert

You're halfway to an action figure with blue tooth gen z/alpha stitch with the broccoli hair

wick

Murph being touched by the Mices’ love and affection for each other is so fucking funny to me lmao. Mans is genuinely touched by camaraderie

ACK

Pet rat owner here! They do indeed love sushi (and almost anything else, edible or not). Also Throttle's vision was damaged which is why he has those cool glasses. He's got robot eyes that don't work properly without them

Papa Taylor

I found the full video on YouTube if people are wondering where to find it.

Jules

Omg street sharks please do it

InevitablyLion

Pea-fishing is my FAVORITE rat fact. Rats are such graceful swimmers it's actually beautiful to watch them dive for the peas!

tarabelle the marabelle

Can confirm, the Fonz does indeed get free drinks from a vending machine by hitting it in the right spot

Shel B Kennas fav SG is welly’s number one felly

Billy Joel did a pretty popular cover almost 20 years ago, as did Joe cocker nearly 45 years ago (Joe cockers version is the most popular instrumental style btw) Yes it’s originally a Beatles song but could have said Billy Joel bc that’s the version that came to mind first.

han!!!!

this sent me on a wiki wander and wow there’s a christmas episode of biker mice from mars too

Zaxbeez

I think Naruto was all J's and Dragonball Z was also very positive.

Robynn

Y’all need to review lamas with hats or Charlie the unicorn 🙌🏻

Lindsay

Rats are as genetically distinct from mice as they are from humans! Rat feeding behavior has no bearing on mouse feeding behaviors! Okay off my soapbox, mice will totally eat meat opportunistically, so yeah they'd eat fish if it's available

Jette Nielsen

I'm from 1987 and Biker Mice from Mars was my favourite show as a kid! Closely followed by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ❤️

ACK

Rats are, however, adorable.

JR Lonergan

I'm BEGGING you guys to try Toxic Crusaders. Just got a slick new Blu-ray release!

JR Lonergan

Holy crap I didnt even think of this

Transfemmes4murph

Anyone else experiencing an issue with any new episode not playing- either in app or browser?

Denatonia (Haven)

Our five pet rats used to pea-fish in a little pink and blue Barbie pool (it had steps). They loved it! 🐀

StalkOfWheat

Man, Caldwell's speech about the state of animation really has me hoping for an indie animation episode. I want to hear reactions to Punch Punch Forever (and also Big Top Burger)

Lindsay

They're both super cute 😊

Will Putman

My pet rat LOVES like is absolutely OBSESSED with California rolls

Stations & Starships

Um actually it is indeed wayne's world one with the pizza hut product placement gag

Vaelyhn

I actually had the Mice toys and the Bikes as a kid. They were awesome, I remember playing with them a lot. Definitely one of the best TMNT rip off shows that came out. I'd love if you guys gave Gargoyles a shot, the first 3 episode mini-movie that starts the series is awesome and I think you'd all love it, that or ReBoot which is like the first every completely 3D animated series ever made back in the 90s.

Ryan A

As a local Chicagoan, their description of our roads is dead on

tacticalgrandma

I think I’m experiencing the late-millennial early-millennial divide pretty hard these past few mixed bags, I’ve never even heard of these shows :’)

Nehemiahdrums

God please do street sharks. I remember loving that show as a kid.

Libby

Vinnie sounds hot

Ray Matford

Sorry, but since you didn’t say "Um, Actually" I can’t award you a point.

Nic Q

Murph not being a fan of Wolverine — yes please unpack that lol. As someone who’s mostly been annoyed with Wolverine since the 90s (and even more when the Fox movies came out), I need the catharsis!

Verdigree

For some reason, I mis-read the episode description as saying 1923 instead of 1993 and was mentally preparing myself for some kind of Jules Verne pulp

Jacob B.

Big Top Burger fuckin rules. Such a gem to find as a fan of Chris Fleming's stand-up

Summer Tribe

I have a hard time believing that Murph is well read on Wolverine

Verdigree

I think for the next Mixed Bag, you should do a book club on a Wolverine Omnibus, or watch X-Men The Animated Series and really talk out Murph's hatred/obsession with Wolverine, because so many of Wolverine's stories are totally resonant with that sentiment

YugiMoto

Dear Naddpod, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE watch Butt Ugly Martians for a mixed bag, I've spent literally 15 years trying to find it again, but i finally found it today. Not good, but fills me with nostalgia

Wojtek

absolutely guaranteed Emily Axford is the first person in history to compare Biker Mice From Mars and Silent Spring

Liam Hansson

Why don't you tell us before you do these types of "reviews" ? I guess I'm missing something..

Shyguy

Oh man I'd love to hear them review more rad 90s cartoons! Swat Kats was my shit and I'd die to hear their opinion on it!

Adam Pearce

Y’all should definitely watch Mighty Ducks animated show in preparation for March Radness

Verdigree

Holy Hell, didn't expect to hear about Rom the Space Knight in this, he's critical to understanding one X-Men character, Forge, so he's mentioned in the Cerebro episode on him, he's obscure , but you CAN buy the Romnibus now, a deal was worked out and Marvel can re-release the comics

Nic Q

Why? And even if he isn't, he can still just dislike him from the 90s cartoons and all the subsequent movies. Wolverine's best non-comic version is in the little-seen X-Men Evolution where he's pretty awesome, not creepy with Jean, and is something of a big brother figure to Scott. Comic-wise, he's fine in solos but X-Men team writers keep making him weird/awful in one way or another. Although he's kinda okay right now in Uncanny.

Bat-Fran

Rob Paulsen is like one of the GOAT voice actors of the century. 🔥

Brian W

My pet rats love chicken, but I have yet to give them sushi… I must try this and give you an update

Ross Wright

Yall should watch Pac-Man and the ghostsly adventures, its the best Pac-Man show

Toblerone. jpg

So happy that we got a punch punch forever mention

Ken

id buy a Ryan Urphy action figure

Fox

That my favorite book “if you give a rat a sushi”

Jimmy Place

TAZ just did it, but for you guys to do a abnimal campaign would be so perfect for you guys

Charlie Penn

If yall are looking for new Grinch things to watch/review, my friend introduced me to the horror that was Tubi original movie "The Grinch that stole Bitches"

Summer Tribe

this is nothing, but you can also now equip Kitsa, Otterball Elite, with a blitzball

Nikolaus Cox

War of the Worlds was first published in 1893 - but even when Orson Welles gave his radio reading of it in 1938 there was still enough left unknown about the surface of Mars that you could bluff your way into believing there were ‘intellects that are to our minds as ours are to the beasts in the jungle’ living on Mars. People believed there were canals on Mars throughout the first half of the 20th century. As Jake says, technology was already good enough would still be able to see explosions, but not the biker mice themselves. War of the Worlds’ first act is all about astronomers observing mysterious eruptions on the surface of Mars.

Smiththebat

It’s the other way around with the Rats and Fish! Very often fish like bass and pike will lay waiting shallow and absolutely will gobble up a rat or mouse if they happen to fall in! Lures styled after rats are VERY successful! 🤙🤙 The mice are out for revenge after eras of fearing for their lives every time they just wanna take a swim!

Ken

So my brothers and I watched the first episode of Street Sharks during the pandemic. It is really, really bad. You want a great 90s cartoon? Gargoyles. Completely magical. Of course it isn't really a TMNT ripoff of course. But it is just high art.

Hammy

They watched some episodes back when Murph, Emily and Caldwell did the 8 bit book club podcast. Of the two Pac-Man shows, it is, I guess, technically the best

Jacob Koselke

This was so timely of a Mixed Bag, a new Biker Mice comicbook series dropped last week

Chris F

Haha so when are you watching Van-Pires?

Rafael C

I was Not prepared for how hot these mice were (and the 90's version being better drawn than the 2006 one??? unusual imo)

Alistair

Alexa, rewind by 13 minutes. Jake said "lay that pipe" and I haven't heard anything else since.

華偉 曾

i agree, throttle does looks like a nerd

snoogans

There were definitely arcade machines I remember holding the start button on and hitting the machine to get it to work for free, not sure about vending machines. But we're definitely way past being able to do it now

zaosh ghadiali

swat Katz was my fave too! Maybe it's the nostalgia but I think the electric guitar was even radder!

zaosh ghadiali

adding talespin for consideration re: March radness

Cheese of the Lake

They are making a whole comic series of Biker Mice from Mars right now! I saw it the other day at my local comic shop in the kids section.

Champ wild

Looked up the 2006 reboot and their bad guy is Ronaldo Rump. Bears a striking resemblance to a real world villain, less orange tho.

Helen✨

I used to work for a big, gruff, softy of a man who called everyone (on the majority male restaurant/kitchen staff) ‘babe’, and completely pulled it off, so it’s possible!

J. Gro

In junior high, we had a vending machine that had some sort of quarter malfunction. At age 38, I don't exactly recall, but it was something like the quarter would drop through to the change dish but still register the coin, so you could press the return change button and get an extra quarter. It didn't work 100% of the time, and an adult caught on pretty quickly... but it was fun while it lasted!

Cyrus

I was so sure Limburger was based on Charles Lindbergh for some reason and was a social commentary but no, it’s just because cheese

Kyle Veach

So I finally got around to watching a couple episodes of BMFM, and why is there so much sexual tension between Charlie and ALL 3 MICE?!

Wyatt Royse

Shout out Rachel Carson. Critsburgh native.

Jared Elwart

Until naddpod I hadn’t heard of this show and I immediately thought of Weird Al’s “Attack of the Radioactive Hamsters From a Planet Near Mars”. I wonder if there’s any relation between them?

Fxd Gear Queer

I'd like to throw Mummies Alive into the ring of weird janky TNMT ripoffs

Kaidan C

Which is next? The mighty ducks cartoon or samurai pizza cats? They’ve almost run the ripoff gauntlet

riskutforthebriskut

"chicago's had some tough times" is the understatement of the century lmao

avameow

It’s all available on YouTube!! Also Vinnie DOES call everyone sweetheart he says it to the crowbar guy he apprehends
