Elder Gen Z here (born in 98)- can’t say child me was ever particularly worried about losing my head tho I def do recall being unnerved by the girl w/ the green ribbon story. I was absolutely led to believe that quicksand was more of an everyday problem than it is tho. Kinda both? This reminds me of a book I started to write in... i want to say first grade? I wrote chapter 1 by hand, and several days later, my mom typed it up for me. But somehow, when i saw it typed and not in my own handwriting, I was like, "Oh no... this is terrible!" Lol. So i tore it up, threw it away, and tried to forget about it because I was so embarrassed. Lol All I remember is that the main character (a Westley/Zoro knockoff) had "a sword that his dad gave him" (which i misspelled as "bad"), and that "He coul lift 2,000 pounds. That's a lot!"
