I do feel the need to point out that the babies in boss baby do act like full adults

Kozai

WAAAHHHH I am so far with Murph on the Boss Baby campaign idea 😭 aside from simply not being interested in a Boss Baby campaign, I dislike how conditional it seems!

Rob H.

This episode might inspire me to get tattoos of my D&D characters. Probably not during a session.

Michael Graham Abernathy

No, the player said their tattoo DM was not at all focused and kept missing things!

Spades Pendragon

If not for the players clearly not taking the dm seriously, a short boss baby campaign has some serious potential. It's a good movie!

The one they call Barlo

The DC confession on this ep is a rough one to hear. Vomited blood last time I heard their reasoning for cheating.

Summer Tribe

why that over the saltmarsh ship collision rules? or the improvised damage table in the dmg? or the falling damage rules?

Nancy ArtMusic

Can't wait to listen to this as always ☺️ hope y'all have a good Christmas

Renee Wild

Just got on the road for a long drive, this posted at the perfect time!!

Dalton Elliott

Perfect timing, I appreciate you guys so much!!!! All the work you do. You guys bring so much joy. Happy Hoglidays!!!

Aspen

“too much egg hog” went criminally unnoticed, I see you jake

Leo's All Purpose Channel

I honestly thought we were gonna get a DND movie level freak out from Murph on that Boss Baby case.

Crane

I love this ep. Merry crittermas

Crane

That tattoo case was mine. Since I lost I guess...what tattoo am I getting honorable judges?

Christopher Lasasso

really curious to hear murph talk more about infantilizing teenage PCs - I feel like I share those frustrations but I could also feel him cutting himself off (maybe?) because risks of opening a door about D20. hysterical supreme crit session as always lmao

Magestain

Happy Hedgehog'glidays!

Noah Crozier

Salt warehouse to the right, pepper warehouse to the left, maybe it's a campaign in Flavortown? That could end up awesome, Big Bad Evil Guy Fieri. The cooking battle in Trinyvale was one of my favorite battles ever

Jennifer

I for one stand with Murph against the boss baby campaign

heavy harry

Boss baby fucking sucks...its just bad.

Marisa

I’m only pro boss baby campaign if Emily DMs it

King of the City Pigeons

The moment when Caldwell joins Emily’s side (ie the side of madness) you can hear a little bit of murph’s spirit die. I’m sure the hedgehoglidays will inspire him though.

Mads Kathleen

Is there any talk of the Chicago/Other soon live shows being cancelled with the rising covid cases?

faizaan723

I can't lie, I'm very on Murph's side for both the Boss Baby question and the Tattoo question lmao

Goggalor

Normally Emily's crazy optimism where she invents a scenario in her head where horrible behavior is actually sweet and nice is very funny. This episode I think I was more tilted then Murph. Wtf where those first two cases xD.

HalfLighter

This episode is utter madness. Each case was like listening to a story of a bully repeatedly kicking sand in a little kids face and listening to everyone except Murph side with the bully and tell Murph he’s a shithead for trying to ruin the bully’s fun. Madness.

Adrianne Reimer

I'm sorry Murph, but a barrel in a salt factory would fuck you up six ways to Sunday. That said, a commoner only has 4 hp, so 6 damage feels appropriate to me. That would flat-out kill anyone here.

Jamie Matthews

Justice for Justice Murphy!!! I agreed with Murph on every single case this time around.

Clay Gibbons

Third Mates vs Boss Baby please!!!

tonytheoneandonly

Sonic in a full Santa suit with "Happy Hoglidays!

Lindsey Schick

Hi, I’m the Dice Christ confession. While I don’t have any gold to melt down, I do have a tattoo of a porcupine quill so I do have a permanent reminder of critter Christ on my body at all times. And I will be rolling d4s for the next few sessions.

Tegan J Gaming

The Bon Freres vs Boss baby would be hilarious. Hated the boss baby concept at first but this would make an a amazingly hilarious 1 shot.

Lindsey Schick

Also fully wasnt lying and using a d8 on purpose, I am just an idiot and never thought of just googling it

gabe mills

This episode epitomizes “you need my sour spirit to mellow your zest for life” between murph and em

FusRohNahSon

If i was forced into a boss baby campaign as one of my first campaigns...id probably would leave DnD honestly lol

hell

happy hoglidays, merry crittermas, and a happy blue year?

hell

if someone else has already made this joke and i'm a dumbass im so sorry

AmberDextrous!

This was the exact thought I had 😂

AmberDextrous!

10/10 I have full confidence in myself to run a session while being tattooed.

Miss Ter Cole

I just want to thank you all so much for giving me this wonderful distraction as I spend Christmas in the hospital. I had emergency gallbladder surgery on 12/23, and am still here with complications. You all have been the one bright spot in my hoglidays.

Aspen

hoping you get well soon!!

Ursa

no one becoming a legitimate/safe tattoo artist is just working at someone's house. no good shop would tolerate apprentices scratching, it's incredibly unsafe! doing that would get you fired from a shop/rejected for an apprenticeship/etc. If they were getting a tattoo in a shop and in the discord call on mobile or something kinda weird? but if they were getting a tattoo in like, a house? they need someone to intervene lol MRSA is no joke.

Meletios

I hope you have a quick recovery!!

Space Cat

Awesome thick sode! Is there just the one this week or will we get another D&D court or Owlbear Cave and such?

Yura

I'm making a prayer circle for Cold Boy Winter, Eldermourne Quiz Show and Eldermourne Long Rest Top Three Moments for the upcoming contents

Adam da Silva

Love you guys like family, i really do and the laughs you have given me have got me through the hardest moments of my life. That said, i no longer recognize the authority of this Court; and here on will follow only the rulings of Justice Murphy. Happy Hoglidays you maniacs!

Garga Lenoir

I feel really bad for that first player whom you wailed on, because by making their stunt high risk (two rolls)/low reward (low attack damage) the GM sent a message that almost no PC wants to hear : Cool stunts and creative play are not welcome, please just use your attacks and spells. As mentioned the DnD system precludes any realistic story, it's made for epic, larger than life tales where these kind of stunts and using the terrain are expected, and a major part of the fun. They're what make encounters stand out. I hope the GM will be more accommodating to cool ideas in the future, and that this player won't listen that this episode because if they do they'll feel like shit even more.

mentallo

is there no Shortrest for this episode?

Julie V Eckert

Hilarious sode, though I think the hogliday spirit was awarded to the wrong people 😂 perhaps there is some leftover triplet energy?

Olivia M

I think that for the salt barrel the DM should’ve used the stats stated in the Animate Object spell. For any DMs out there, you should check out the spell! The rules for object damage can have interesting practical purposes.

Olivia M

If it makes you feel better, I definitely would have done the same thing 😂

scarlet

Such a chaotic ep 🤣 it was very funny but also WOOOF 😨 tattoo DM sounded so rude and at least the one player was clearly having a bad time. Probably just a group of randos on roll20 who didn't know each other very much.

Will Day

The boss baby just makes me want a one shot now called Bahumia Babies.

Leonie

Why did no one laugh at the Egghog joke? 10 out of 10

Crane

Your 100% right lol

Anna Q

Jake said “3 of the 4 justices” bailiff trying to go above his station

Alex

This is what I was thinking, as well. It's one thing if the player said they want to do this, the DM informed them that it wouldn't do much damage, but the player proceeded to take the risk anyway. But if the player is doing something creative yet also realistic, and incurring risk in the form of dice rolls, they should be rewarded for it. Otherwise you turn the game into a simple slog of PCs doing basic attacks and spells on everything, with no creativity behind it. That sort of thinking works in a video game where the player is constrained by programming, but it is anathema to an open ended game like dnd.

k.allen

I fully agree that a d6 being a "regular" die is confusing. I am not used to that being called a D6 so be brain doesn't see it as such and was also confused the first time I played by that, but luckily it was in person so people heard me when I asked but then made un of me for being dumb so fully here to support the confusion that is a d6 they are strange

k.allen

I think a lot of the laughs at under the breath jokes got cut in this episode. There were quite a few that had me dying and the sharpness of the transition after led be to believe Murph cut out the laugh for time sake but not the joke for our enjoyment
