Man I had such a fun idea for a mixed bag in the future, have Jake, Caldwell, and Emily record plot and character theories periodically (maybe one batch of predictions per arc) without Murph listening to them. Then at the end of the campaign all of yall listen to all the recordings and talk about the hilariously wrong or erieily right predictions

In case Emily chose her wild magic character I wanted to shout out the wild magic system we use in our home game. Our DM stumbled on it a while ago and it's led to some really fun and chaotic sessions since it uses a D300 and adds good/neutral/bad surges. in my home games I have more mechanics for Wild Sorcerers I allow a player to invoke a surge for advantage on spell attack/impose disadvantage on spell save. I also keep the "roll a d20" after any levelled spell casting, but it progresses up every time, and you keep a counter that I 3d printed and provide, every time that you roll after casting a levelled spell, the numeral goes up by one for every time that you havent hit on the table in this manner, so if you dont hit on a 1 the first time, then the next time it hits on a 1 or a 2, if you dont hit then it goes to a 1,2,or 3, etc etc, it has led to some FUN times, like when the sorcerer needed to cast a high level spell, but she was at a 15 on her wild hit die. . . . . she knew what was going to happen when she cast synaptic static. . . .she knew, but she had to. . ..

The sorcerer found herself standing in the middle of the dark battlefield alone. Her friends scattered seemlingly uncouncious or dead from the lenghthy fight. Their strength hadn't been enough to put a stop to the evil that stood before her, and she had stood there and let it happen. Watched as they fell, feeling hopeless to intervene knowing what it would mean to unleash her power. The anguish was too much to control, she could feel it welling up inside her ready to overflow. Her eyes grew dark and the energy coursing through her body condensed into her arms, giving off sporadic purple flashes of light. She had felt this power growing over the past days but it was too late to hold back, control released, given over to grief and anger. The consequences would be great. The growing purple flashes of light drew the evils attention, readying him for the final attack, the last piece to remove before his plan was complete. But he wouldn't have the chance. She spoke the words with the strength of the power she was about to release. She threw her arm out towards the evil and a blinding purple flash of light filled the view. The evil was dead, she knew. But what had been the cost of this wild magic to her and her friends. The light dimmed and her vision returned. Around her she could see her friends stirring, they hadn't died. But something was off. She frantically looked around knowing such power never came free. Then she felt it. She reached her hand up to her face and screamed. She had a beard of feathers.
