(late to the party bc i let eps pile up to binge but) sol dying would be horrible but fulfill the narrative of like “we were so cool and so good at adventuring” and then finding out the truth and being so mad about it and then on his first real adventure not actually having the skill. it would be a commentary on how school totally doesnt prepare you for life too. but long live the hot frog. glad we still have him 💕🐸

I feel a little crazy but I've triple quadruple checked and every time I play this short rest... the audio that comes through isn't the short rest. It's the episode. Is my patron haunted? Did something glitch?

I feel really bad for Caldwell because Astral Self is a bad subclass for the worst class in the game combined with him being a terminally bad roller, unlike Beverly who was one of the best classes in the game which could bolster his dice luck due to raw mechanical power, no matter what subclass or feats he picked really.

Hard disagree! Monks are badass! Which you will hopefully get a taste of as the campaign goes on.

Yeah, people who haven't seen monks in actual play with a creative player and only look at them on the books severly underestimate monks. I still think monks should get free bonus action disengage and dash like a rogue, and still have to pay ki for patient defense, but they are far from a bad class. I also really love playing astral self monk too so.........

I don't think it's a crazy take when even Caldwell found Astral Self so underwhelming that he swapped subclasses later in the campaign, like 2014 monk is just kind of bad.

I think his subclass swap was done for story purposes, not from anything lacking in the astral self. I haven't carefully looked at much from the 2024 monk, just enough to see that they ruined my beloved elemental monk.

I am enjoying this campaign, and its cool that Emily is doing an "English accent" I just listened to an old SR and I believe Emily said she was not sure if she wanted to do one as British people are protective of it. I can confirm this as both my Scottish parents hate when I try to do the accent lol

Seconding a mix bag request for The Mighty Ducks animated series ... one of the weirdest franchise creations I've ever seen. You know those beloved films where humans play hockey? What if the show followed anthropomorphic duck people from a planet called Puckworld who fight lizard aliens. You best believe their laser weapons shoot blazing pucks.

A friend of mine was telling me about a pre-written one shot a while back in which the DM hands out characters at the start of the session, each with a reasonably intelligent mount, animal companion or familiar. Then, ten minutes into the game all of the characters are captured, the DM hands out the character sheets for critters and the rest of the session the players portray the critters having to go on an adventure together to rescue their adventurers.
