Did you put thought into why characters that live forever like Moonshine and Beverly wouldn't show up for large scale world events or are you just winging it? For the question master himself I ask: how do you maintain such a healthy lifestyle routine while balancing the busy routine that accompanies this kind of career with touring and recording especially? I work 50-60 hours a week with a dnd session or 2 sprinkled in there and can barely find the motivation for these things, so it’s inspiring to hear you talk about them, so I’d love to know what drives you to escape the routine mundanity that can easily plague everyday life. Shouldn't Beverly be alive in C3 because of a green knight ability where he lives a really long time? If Beverly had become evil, could Duck Team, at current lvl, take on a lvl 20 titan? I feel very old Beverly would be a different enough character from teen Beverly that Murph could play them well as an NPC.

In designing/planning Campaign 1 was there any thought given to the meta narrative because it's really special and adds a ton to the charm it has. I think a lot of listeners have followed the cast from CH to their various projects so there's that connection already (Murph is serious, Hardwon is a little 'Insecure Jake', etc) but also Hardwon is the kind of player a newbie would (and did) create. Moonshine is the kind of character a veteran would make. Bev is a Paladin who is a literal boyscout. Those things I think really add to the overall enjoyment of the campaign and I wonder if they were planned. Thanks!

Hey everybody, including Jake! I have a long running game of 5e with some friends, and I’m a player in another game with other friends. In both games there is one player who always gets really bummed when they aren’t rolling well. I mean like sighing loudly, groaning and moaning, and complaining that their roll “won’t even matter anyway” before they even roll the dice. Hey guys! Incoming Emily appreciation post: When asked the infamous dinner question, if you could have a dinner party with any three people living or dead, who would they be? My answer is a resounding "Emily Axford ONLY please" shouted at the top of my lungs. I don't want anyone else gumming up the table and talking over her. I just want to sit down at a table set for four so she has plenty of food to choose from (bathtub brisk, mountainous piles of lucky charms - just the marshmallows, and all the hemp milk she can drink) and then just talk about character creation for the duration of the meal. I guess she can bring Murph and the fellas if she wants a plus one-three for the empty chairs, and I do love the rest of the crew, but I really just want to hear from Emily - the Master Character Craftsmen - our modern day Michelangelo with a character sheet, the fabled fabricator, a character composer. I think Emily gets plenty of shit and not enough praise from certain groups who don't need to be mentioned. I just hope she knows how much her characters mean to so many of us, and how the choices she makes in the stories she tells with you guys are what plucks the strings of my heart. I want to hear about the characters she'd make when she's not holding herself back from looking too good because people get mad at her for it. Absolutely none of that nonsense at my dinner table! I also would like to know how she would tweak my characters. I'm currently playing an aberrant mind sorcerer who's name is Soleilwyn, or Sunny by her friends. So far I have only been choosing spells that I think suit the aberrant mind flavor (i.e, false life, crown of madness, detect thoughts, arms of haddar, etc.). As I'm about to level up, I'm wondering if Emily has any 3rd level spells that she would recommend for Sunny. For what it's worth, I think as Sunny levels up more, she might be better learning her magic and could learn spells that you don't necessarily need to know Deep Speech to cast so no limits here. All love to Emily and the gang! Thank you for making stories that mean the world to me.

But it seems really rare to find a group of people who were actually ok with it unanimously. Like one person is usually picked on the most, one person might lose their shit if they get picked on, somebody might take it too far, or everyone in the group just ends up feeling insecure around their friends all the time. It's always seemed like a fun social dynamic, especially for TTRPGs. How do y'all make it work?

Hello Lady and Gents, I have a question mostly for Murph but open to all you creatives: I've played bits of DnD here and there with several different characters, but now I'm trying to put together a campaign as a first-time DM for a small number of friends. I'm a long-time fan of all of you and I was trying to steamroll through Campaign 1 before seeing you in Toronto recently (which was amazing!). Along the way I got really inspired to DM thanks to Murph's grand designs and everyone's roleplaying. The problem: I'm not a creative. So far, all my ideas are translated from unique instances in video games or books that I've mentally fitted to be played in a TTRPG. My greatest concern is that I only have a strong vision for the beginning of my campaign and I'm worried my creative juices will run dry too soon. How do you keep your creativity going? Where do you go for inspiration and what resources do you use when it comes to constructing your puzzles and encounters? Appreciate it!

This is a little bit longer so I understand if you don’t include it, but I think would make for a really cool hearthside chat discussion Since The 2 crew are back in Bahumia, it reminded me of a darker alternate universe version of the ending that I thought of back when I first finished campaign 1, and I would like to hear everyone’s thoughts on what that would have meant for their characters. Moonshine: What if the solution with Pendergreens never came through and she instead got her way and she sacrificed herself and became the Cursed Queen of the Nine Hells? How would her otherwise kind and hospitable character progressively buckle under the crown’s pressure? Hardwon: What if instead of being allowed to retire peacefully to the Crick like he wanted, he had to own up to the responsibility of being the first true wielder of the United Queens Hammer/ Godshammer in an age and become the Bastard King of the Mountain and essentially be King of all Dwarvenkind. How would he handle that responsibility in addition to the vitriol in response to him being a half elf. Beverly: Beverly has always been a little zealous in how he viewed his idols, Pelor, Thialla and his father. However, throughout their adventures Thialla breaks her oath, kills Pelor, and his father joins forces with Akarot, aka the devil himself. Also remember that Beverly almost joined up himself with both Thialla and Akarot on separate occasions. Deeply affected by the loss of everyone he looked up to I think his naturally zealous nature might eventually see the solution as being having to rise to Godhood himself, becoming the Gilded God (I got gilded from Toegold), and become what those he looked up to couldn’t live up to. Would he became twisted by power like Thialla or be cool like Pelor?

I recently started a new online campaign, where the DM made us each roll stats in order, keeping the number for each stat, picking one to re-roll if we wanted, and picking a class based on those stats. This i a question for everyone, Are any of you considering trying the new One D&D stuff in your campaigns? Lots of things were changed and it is designed to be compatible with any version of D&D. You can go to D&D beyond and see all of the new things such as feats, character races, 3 classes so far (bard, rouge, and ranger) you can even submit your feedback to the website to help with the development. If you all play tested certain features on the podcast then more people may be able to see how they work in something they are familiar with as many people do not have time and or people to play test these with themselves.

Besides KoboldPress, have you tried any of the more "famous" homebrew publications? I specifically recommend laserllama's class reworks, they do a fantastic job at giving martial classes like Monk and Barbarian a more broad way to fit into a specific character concept (A defensive mountain monk or a Barbarian that fights with his fists, for example)
