I just stopped the episode and looked up "Shrek is Love, Shrek is Life" and I'm very upset with whoever it was who first showed it to Emily! I think I've seen it before today, but I definitely blocked it out!! 😬lol

This episode was so bizarre in references for me because 1. Shrek is love Shrek is life scarred me in school and someone was constantly watching it in the common room on school WiFi and 2. As someone from the UK Agatha christie adaptions/film are CONSTANTLY playing on the TV and that was my whole childhood - so when Emily said 'Death on the Nile' I was genuinely baffled because I thought she was referring to the David Suchet 2004 movie (which I have seen an ungodly amount of times) and then she was suddenly talking about Gal Godot😂

Oh also if anyone else is interested in Agatha Christie stuff and doesn't mind old school british nonsense - definitely check out any/all of 'Agatha Christie's Poirot' series from the BBC with David Suchet as Poirot - it ran from 1989-2013 so there's SO. MANY. and honestly the older the better!!!! The BBC also have a bunch of other Christie adaptations - And Then There Were None from 2015 was atmospheric as fuck. Also don't know how niche this is but if you want to watch more british murder mysteries you HAVE to watch Midsomer Murders (which is set and filmed around where I live!), again, the older episodes are just *chefs kiss* absolute nonsense with so many familiar faces lol

Jake, you absolutely need to play an elf businessman. They sort of guy who just buys up abandoned buildings because "someone will need it eventually." The sort to buy a warehouse and *then* think up a business to justify it. Or run a town around his industry (like potion making), then pay his friends in government to make it illegal, run the black market at 5 times the profit and then move on to next to do it again, just because he got bored and it's like restarting a game to him.

Honestly I was about to watch Death on the Nile on a plane ride Thursday night, but decided to listen to this short rest instead-- I had pre-downloaded both of them. Then Emily blew my mind by talking about my in-flight entertainment plans!! (I know Death on the Nile is going to be terrible but I'm much more excited for my flight home now because I can be one of those people Emily is talking about.)

Based on some math I did a while back a gold coin would, in the real world, likely be about 9 grams and worth about $1200, BUT is actually valued in d&d world at around 10% of that based on the idea presented in the DMG that a person living a moderate lifestyle would spend about 1 gold/day, “moderate lifestyle” is of course subjective but true value that would mean SPENDING over 400k in a year in today’s money. Cutting that down to ~40k in spending for what *I* would call moderate that gives us a value of ~$120/gold piece. Anyway what I’m saying is the triplets spent between 64 and 640 MILLION dollars on candles after the installation fee
