Eugene

This early!! Have we been good boys, girls and thems?

Franny McCabe-Bennett

Is this our first repeat question, with Mr Darcy? Or am I having the most extreme deja vu on earth? I thought Emily brought this Q to the court during Jake's paternity leave...?

Mc Dee

Owjejfjdlskej early drop let's goooo

ananarama

Boss baby bailiff Jake

Emma

Mr Darcy is the snobby, socially awkward type. I think Murph would do a great Mr Darcy

Big Baby J

New to DnD and wants nudiDnD

Unbaked

Crazy the 5th Anniversary Live Show is going to be the baptism one

Becca_rebaker

I laughed out loud at "I'm a leprechaun" and "talentless hunk". Emily is always so funny. 🤣🤣🤣

Evan Cordero

Caldwell as the Plug Gremlin had me cry from trying to not burst out laughing at my desk. My coworker even called me out lol

Bobomb36x

I need more of the Caldwell Gremlin.

heavy harry

Bruh, you're handle gives me chills

Eric Keller

Talentless Hunk is Jon Hamm on 30 Rock

Crangar’s Little Helper

Caldwell as the “Plug Gremlin” with his reluctant host “Powering-Through” Murphy. Had me in absolute tears.

Luke Swannell

OMG! A Thursday release! This is unheard of and I love it

Nikolaus Cox

Real quick, but Mr. Darcy is absolutely NOT a 'boy next door' type who knows how to treat anyone 'sweetly.' He is a man full of pride and prejudice who learns, over time, to look past his own biases to find love with Eliza, just as she learns the difference between superficial goodness and intrinsic goodness. This player wants two wildly different love interest archetypes if they want both a boy next door and a Darcy,

Shane C

I want a one-shot with the Green Team

Ilana Galpert

If y'all are thinking about getting tickets I just got mine and I think they're almost sold out??? So you might not want to wait. Not a plant I swear on bahamut

Chloe Peifly

great episode! can’t wait for the bonus cases! P.S. never played d&d, P.P.S. hate the show

woodsorrel

Okay but I do need to clarify something. Caldwell mentions that you only get to shirtless Firth in episode 5. In the 1995 P&P miniseries, Darcy’s famous lake scene is in Episode 5, but he’s specifically not shirtless. He has a wet shirt clinging to him. You DO get shirtless Firth in the first episode, when he takes a bath and then gazes at Elizabeth from a window while she plays with a dog at Netherfield. Elizabeth only ever beholds wet shirt Firth though.

Eran Rotem

Please God give us a MurphBot 1 shot if not a full campaign

Daniel

It was such a small bit but it was so good I listened to the plugs twice, especially Jake's "there's a lot of shows caldwell" warning

Sara S.

One thing I will say about the first case: session zeroes specifically are the time to voice concerns about the tone of content of the campaign, as well as workshopping PCs. That’s when you implement lines and veils or whatever safety mechanism you might want, but also check if the campaign is the right fit…..

Allison

With our little infant baptized baby bailiff, I absolutely need to hear Emily sing: BABY JAKE

Thomas Hegarty

My favorite solution for not enough hp is give the boss phases and just give them another health bar

Cj Ferrigno

Caldwell brought me to tears during the live show section

Sara S.

Apparently Emily’s church experiences consists of drugs and rock and roll. No sex, but still.

Jordan Holl

Caldwell, you absolute son of a bitch. The plug goblin bit made me Hynea laugh in the middle of a goddamn Walmart, I DEMAND reparations

Yuncle Ben

I did miss the romance of season 1. Especially Beverly. I think that’s what you’re missing from the other seasons. 🤷‍♂️

Cruz Gusman

I’ve been in the situation where the DM seemingly makes up some mechanics so his npcs can do something crazy a bunch of times, I usually just go along with it because I know how hard it is to make a cool idea you had as a DM happen without a hitch.

Quentin Jackson

ok but straight up if you guys baptize jake under dice christ in a live show that would be a psychotic and wonderful ending

Drew Worth

Having seen them at a live show I can confirm that Murph has very loud Almond Watch notifications turned on.

Puja Tolton

Oh man I had such whiplash during that first case. One of my pcs was a centaur druid who came from a family and culture that was very doctor-centric. When we were going to his hometown I named the university where his family worked the Centaur University of Medicine or C.U.M. For a half second I was sure the case was about my campaign XD

sarfs

Can’t roll a death save with a peanut M and M because Jake forgot to buy them 🤬

Eli Huxtable

"Roll me out of a cup like a yahtzee dice" had me cackling. Good lord Hugh.

Gilbot 3000

Indoor skydiving instructor here. Only the 32foot wind tunnel in Dubai is big enough for a hangglider..100ft high.. such chaos would ensue. .

Natural Dragon

Murph is getting soft in his old age to the players. As an aspiring crit court judge I would side with the DM in the case of the fast goblins. Murph forgets that he is a top tier DM with years of experience along with improv. He forgets that us mere mortals can’t always improvise as fast as he can and we need certain things to happen. The proper ruling is in favor of the DM but the DM must listen to every season of NADPOD and watch every D20 season… Also was the DM with almonds actually Brennan venting about the main D20 cast? 😉

Rachael

I swear they did the C.U.M. University case on the last Dungeon Court episode or Bonus Case episode, am I crazy? I just swear I’ve heard it before lol

Fran Lee

Rewinding to actually listen to the jokes cause I got too distracted by the frankly excellent beetlejuice impersonation

Z3DT

Will the anniversary show be recorded for all us international fans who can't afford the flight to New York to go see it?

JuicyKiwi

Hearing Murph say Manjias wrong hurt something Deep in my core

Dag Swaniels

That bit by Caldwell at the end! 😂😂😂

Dag Swaniels

I would love to be there for it! 😂

Patrick Harry

Not into romance at my table, least favorite part of D20/CR. Out of any podcast that does it Nappod has done it the best for my taste. It can be present but never a main focus or driving force in the campaign

pief

We are simply not ready for Jake as the green m&m

Nitzan Harel

Hot take, which should not even be that hot: as the dm, dice, hp, and stats are a suggestion, as long as you change things behind the screen to keep things fun, cheating as the dm is perfectly fine and even a good idea.

Avi Rubinoff

If the DM honestly misestimated how difficult a fight would be, and the players agree that it would be more fun to buff/nerf the enemies, then yes, it's OK to do so. But I don't think the DM should do so unilaterally or secretly, and definitely shouldn't do so to prevent the story from going off the rails.

Nitzan Harel

As someone who dms professionally and for friends, for kids and for adults, and has often dmed on a time-limit, in some situations cheating is just what you have to do behind the screen to make things work. Especially with time limits, sometimes you just gotta make it all fit, so changing hp by a 100 points here or there is necessary. Also, killing a kid’s character, depending on the kid and situation is often more trouble than it’s worth, and can ruin the fun for some kids, so in certain cases avoiding that while still keeping things interesting is the key to my job.

Ebony-Rose Ellis

I went to Coventry University to study Media production and the hoodie that all students wore in my course said #CUMediaProduction so the first case if v personal to me

Adam Baker

I’m certain I’ve heard the CUM question before. Did they clip and old question in?

steven eaton

Late to the party... am I the only one who thinks the PC wanting an in game boy friend wants the DM to be her real life BF?

Rachel 🌛

Talentless Hunk is Jon Hamm in just about every role he's ever played 🤣

Henry

Exactly!!! I was combing the comments looking for this. Darcy is so decidely NOT a boy next door sweetheart. The player doesnt know what she wants

Nitzan Harel

I mean, dms don’t have to roll. In many good systems they don’t. I treat the rolls as suggestions often. But it really is group-dependent, in some situations I use the dice mostly as-is.

Ryan

Justice for Pookie and CUM university

Garga Lenoir

Once again Jake has the funniest understated jokes. "Is that what the world is??" was fantastic! Especially for an infant!

Joe

100% agree with this take. It's often said that until a DM says it, it isn't true or untrue yet. This is usually in a narrative sense, but it should apply to anything the DM does. And because the DM's job is to make sure that everyone at the table is having fun, anything they do in pursuit of that should be legal. If you contrast that will the case about the super fast goblins, that's a good example of where the players didn't enjoy the improv. It was at their expense instead of their benefit. I had a similar situation where my players caught on my BBEG's lieutenants whom I planned to make a short appearance with dramatic escape. Well, I underestimated how strong they were, but I rewarded them anyway. They got information from the NPC, they got rewarded by the local authorities, and then the NPC still made a dramatic escape with a Ring of Word of Recall that I had given them in that moment. Everyone was happy because they felt validated and I didn't have to build a huge chunk of the campaign. Win-win.

Jessa Jayne

Does anyone have a link for the Romance RPG that Emily mentioned going into Court of Fey and Flowers I’m writing a fey campaign and I need that!

Nikolaus Cox

Thank you! I did the same thing! Yeah I think this player wants 'archetypal love interest' to occur, without quite considering what the archetype is. Which makes their request to the DM even more unfair. How can you be expected to create and NPC who ticks a bunch of contradictory boxes?

Bat-Fran

..... Caldwell being a unadulterated goon, Emily cackling with pure joy, Murph ploughing through with the "real job" and you know Jake is just sat grinning as he watches the insanity unfold... probably sipping a cold brew or a whiskey.... .... I fudging love you guys so much 🥰🥰

StarsPaw-Pawn

Absolutely living for the sprinkled in mentions of Christy, the hot pharmacist from Emily’s childhood church 💖

Jessa Jayne

I bought this an am writing a fairy campaign around it thank you Sara

Robert de Forest

Stevens Tech in Hoboken used to be Stevens Hoboken Institute of Technology.

Dragon

I am losing interest on the first case that I have to keep going back and hearing it again because of too much side comments. Haven’t even heard the actual case and it’s 8 minutes into it. Like what was the case? The silly names being too much or the DM being scolded from her players due to session zero names being too much for her players to want to continue playing? I am totally lost.

Max Herzog

A hang-glider is a vehicle, not ammunition

Summer Tribe

Literally nobody but you is here for the actual case. We all paid to hear comedians be funny. Granted, it's not a great submisson

Hoid

Have a good day 2025 commentors (personally love the potential for romance in a D&D but gotta be organic. )

riskutforthebriskut

bro this is a show not an actual court... you do know that right?

Mike Y

SPOILERS GoNG The stuffed one-shot case goes over how to make a bunch of different factions fighting each other over a relic seem interesting to the PCs. I'm listening in 2026 hearing a silent Murph coming up with the Kill Screens' motorcycle escape from Sector 6 with the control chip
