Just thinking about Dungeons and Daddies low level daddies killing a vampire by cutting the bag once it was over the vamps head- they had the bag for maybe 3 episodes- used it, and it was gone. Hilarious use and made them actually make incredibly consequential things happen!

Murph is giving out some real big “No but…” energy this court session or is it just me 😉 but seriously Murph never change. You try to bring logic and reason to the high court. We need that into today’s court system. You’re a man of principle. Unlike a certain bailiff… Did you know a former disgraced judge from Boston works as the bailiff at the crit court and is begging to be allowed back as judge. He’s more corrupt the United States Supreme Court. Also it’s very easy to weaponize a bag of holding especially if there are other items like the bag of holding. You can google bag of holding weaponized and find lots of creative but annoying ways to make an encounter super easy. If you all have a Dropout account you can you go to the episode of Um Actually with Matt Mercer, Becca Scott and Gabrus. At the 18-19 mins. Mr Mercer explains what players can do with a bag of holding. I’m guessing the DM in question had a bad experience where a player used a bag of holding to one shot a difficult boss or the players have discussed using it in such a way. As a player and a DM I would hate to end an encounter early by using a bag of holding as a one shot kill. That’s my thought on the issue. As always love the show and all you amazing people. Even Jake.

In the breakup case the justices have clearly forgotten the Clash Precedent. Yes, if the players stay there will be trouble but if they *go* that trouble would be doubled. Clearly the correct decision here is for the players to stay.

I think the justices really were onto something when they said that all problems starts in character creation. Also hard agree with Murph on the "don't impersonate a character as your pc" part, had to learn that lesson the hard way tho. My first dnd character for a one shot was a half orc names Shrek and I stopped behaving like movie Shrek after like 5-10min because it's incredibly restrictive to play a pre-defined character (especially one that didn't fit into the setting).

The sushi go story makes a tiny bit more sense when you realize that the game is basically as big as a deck of cards. The entire game could fit in your hands, I doubt they thought they were doing anything that huge by bringing it out 😂

For the gritting DM: I feel like a good option would be to give out boons thay allow players to cause re-rolls. Lucky Feat, DM inspiration, maybe give out homebrew items like Caliopes modified Luck Blade, or items that offer Cutting words/portents that thebplayers can use to fight back against Dice Christ

I'm supportive of the DM that flat out doesn't want bags of holding in their game. The DM puts so much effort into running a game. I think it is absolutely fair to say they don't want an item that can only be used for shenanigans in their game. Since they are explicitly not tracking weight anyway the normal use for the bag is gone so only the abnormal is left.

Ironically I do DM for my BIL who also happens to be my best friend 🤔 he is playing the OP Harvest Sythe Druid class with a special robe that allows him to convert Hit Dice into Harvest Dice. (Before you @ me the whole party is insanely OP too 😉 everyone gets special stuff so no one is left out)

2026-09-05 07:00 On the bag of holding case: kind of insane that the justices are all acting like the bag of holding is some obscure item that you have to read the DMG to know about. It’s probably the most well known and iconic magic item the game has, and while those players are definitely being weird, I could also see it being a case where it came up once and now they want one just because they feel like the DM is being weird about it.

The "shouldn't know what a BoH is" part was about the perspective of characters in a world where the bags don't exist, not the players/table. The "why are they even asking" portion was answered in the initial question's mention of shenanigans: The DM of course knows they don't need it for object management b/c the DM designed all those requirements/interactions, so the party clearly wants one as a pocket dimension weapon & transportation/stealth workaround.

According to the stats for a deinonychus, it only gets 3 attacks. 2 claws and a bite. It if moves 20 feet and hits with its claw, the target has to make a save or be knocked prone, at which point the dino can make a bonus attack bite. The DM is really giving his friend a boost
