━━ 📖 EPISODE CONTEXT ━━

TW: This story contains themes of parental death, orphanhood, and trauma. Listener discretion is advised.

It's been almost two weeks since you moved in with Joey, and you've already noticed an improvement in your relationship. You can now spend hours talking, bickering, and getting intimate. But as soon as you try to find out more about his past, about who he is, he becomes withdrawn and distant, and you wonder if he'll ever be able to open up to you.

You'd like to pierce his shell and discover his true face, literally. Why does he keep this mask on despite your closeness? Shouldn't he know by now that you're not going anywhere, no matter what he's hiding? Shouldn't he know that you'd like to reassure him, comfort him like you do when he has nightmares. He thinks you're unaware of it, and yet, every night, you hold back the urge to run to him, to take him in your arms, to prove to him that he's not alone in what's tormenting him, like tonight...
