Later today I'm going to try my hand at a premodern tournament. I'm currently deciding between playing blue/green madness or monoblack discard (these are the two decks I basically have all the cards for already). Hope it goes well!

I was expecting the last panel to say, "That's why I'm now a stax player."

I was expecting the last panel to say: First guy: "Is that why your decks have so many counter spells?" Second guy: "It's all about 'control.'"

I've been loving the Premodern Format. We have a monthly event here that gets 6-8 people, and I've been playing monogreen 10-land stompy. I deck I always wanted to play in legacy, but didn't get a chance to before infect creatures got printed :( How did you do in the event?

Ended up going 2-1 with blue/green madness. I think mono black would have been a better fit for the metagame but I couldn’t find all the cards in time. Overall super fun format. Although I miss Force of Will and Brainstorm, the format is surprisingly balanced for having a fixed set of cards.

I think it's more fun without Force and Brainstorm. It's nice to know when your opponent is tapped out that 98% of the time your spell will resolve. I'm very hesitant to call any format balanced until someone goes and runs a tournament with $10K+ for first. A lot of formats look balanced before the incentive arrives for competitive players to try and break it. I remember people telling me that Pioneer was super balanced while it was still a fan format XD

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. We've seen a lot of example of this in the past, such as when Legacy and Pauper were not as widely played. After more playtesting, I'm sure Parallax Tide will probably need to be banned if not more.
