In my ongoing foray into Premodern, I tried a new deck in a tournament I played in last night. Definitely did not fair as well as usual, only going 1-2. It was a Quirion Dryad deck with my special tech Nimble Mongoose. The deck probably needs more work, but I can post a list later if people are interested. Probably would have fared better with my usual Pox deck, but it was fun to try something new.

I’d be curious to see the list ^.^

My first deck was Karrthus tyrant of jund. Would be funny these days because of Miirym

My former roommate took apart my first commander deck when he stole my cards and fled out of state. I think I'm finally ready to build a new deck out of it's carcass.

My first deck was Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant. In part, it was an experiment to see if I could cast Gleemax without going infinite. Turns out 1 million mana is a lot. With 40 forests tapping for 40 mana each, Upwelling, Seedborn Muse, and Doubling Cube, it would still take multiple rotations around the table without anyone interacting to get to 1 million. There was a combo at the time that let you Living Wish for all of the land you own onto the battlefield, but that felt too close to infinite. Also, it is incredibly impractical. 1 million forests at 1 cent each still costs $10,000, and the weight/space required for all of those lands really requires you to bring a rather large truck to your local game store and tapping the truck when you tap for your 1 million mana. With all the new cards printed in the 15 or so years since, there is probably a better way to do it now, but certainly nothing simple. I never did get to hard cast Gleemax without going infinite.

And yes, please post that premodern decklist :)

This is amazing. But do the rules allow you to tap your truck rather than tap all the lands individually?

Cardboard Crack

I feel like dragon creatures are fairly common as a first commander

Rose

I don't know what the official rules are on tapping trucks, but given that I'm already breaking the rules by playing Gleemax, I guess it's up to the people I'm playing with to decide :) (yes, I know this answer is a bit of a copout)

I remember my first was Glissa, the Traitor. She was the only creature in the deck that didn't have infect.

It was one of my first so it was a pile of abzan. It had bangers like "Skinrender". I eventually added a bunch of board-wipes with legs and it became less fun. That's when I took it apart.
