Back when I was just starting to play Magic as a teenager, I used to play at an LGS called Place to Play. Probably the most notable player that went to that store was Brian Weissman from time to time (creator of "The Deck"). The store would open around noon, and on the weekends it would easily stay open past 2am. I remember there was even one time when some guy offered to sell me a Mox Emerald at an awesome price, so I drove home at 3am, snuck into my house to get my cash, and drove back without waking my parents up somehow. I'm pretty sure the guys that ran the store actually lived there. The building had sort of a loft overlooking the play area where it looked like they lived. As a teenager, I thought this was the coolest thing ever! When Pace to Play eventually closed, I was so crushed. But one of the nice things about Magic is I can still dig up old cards that remind me of all the memories I have from that store.

I still remember midnight pre-releases that went to 5 or 6 am in the morning! I was younger back then.

I haven’t done a midnight prerelease in forever. Do any LGSs still do those?
