What do you think, would it be better if aggressive decks weren't so good in the Powered Cube, so the combo and control decks could flourish more? It feels weird to start banning cards in Powered Cube when it's supposed to be a format where all the best cards are included.

I'm one of those monsters who really enjoys playing Boros.

If you've been following Caleb Gannon on YouTube he's been talking about for years that the vintage cube has these exact symptoms. Stubbornly telling people otherwise that red and white are the best colours, if you want to win, taking broadside bombadeers over ancestral, time walk, or moxen is a good idea, and 2-card combos are actually not and should basically be avoided at all costs. Powered cube came onto Arena, the stats came out, and he released a video about how vindicated he felt with the data telling him exactly what it assumes. Some examples, firstly, 17lands is an opt-in data collection, so the average 17lands win-rate is 54.8% not a flat 50%. Looking at the flashy data page, Tinker has a when drawn win rate of 58.8%, but this is to be expected; Tinker decks work best when Tinker is drawn. If you go into the less nice-looking, more thorough data, you discover that decks containing Tinker have an abyssmal 44.6% win rate when they don't draw Tinker. So yeah, what we are seeing with the Powered Cube has been going on with the Vintage cube for years, we just now have the data to point at it and politetly say "told you so"

Interesting to know. I wonder if WotC will eventually update the cube to depower Boros.

Have you ever considered selling any hand drawn original comics? I’d love to buy one.

I was also referring to a strip I thought was yours, though I can no longer find it. A boy calls out for his dad, saying there's a monster in his room. His dad says there's no such thing as monsters. The boy says to his friend, Stop drafting monowhite in Cube, you monster. His friend replies, Didn't you hear your dad? There's no such thing as monsters.

That's nice of you to say! The comics are all drawn digitally, so I guess the first step would be to actually draw some comics by hand. Alternatively, I could do some sketches. I've done these for the artist edition books and at some of the signings I've attended (maybe you've seen these shared on Patreon from time to time?), so I guess I could offer some sketches without the books. Not sure what the correct channel would be... maybe eBay?

Yeah, I’ve got one of the artist edition books with a custom sketch you made for me, I love it! eBay like Klug or maybe a limited level reward here on Patreon? I’d love to be able to hang a full comic next to my mtg original art :)

Some comics just stick with you :)
