Like many of my comics, I figured if I've been dealing with something when playing Magic, other people probably have similar experiences! Anyone else deal with something like this? Were you able to find a solution?

I felt that if I tested a lot more and pushed myself, I could have qualified for a big overseas event; this is part of the reason I never bothered. We had 2 or 3 really good pros in New Zealand who deserved to be at the top level, but often their friends and the players they tested with for big events were all angle shooters. It made me sad that we didn't have people like Reid Duke or Andrea Manguchi at the top level of our country. It always felt like if I won or qualified, then I'd just have to spend a bunch of time testing, travelling and playing with people I didn't get on with :(.

There are a couple of names that I won't mention here that are infamous in our country for angle shooting. Or otherwise doing things like holding onto information that would get someone DQ'd and only sharing that information when it gave them an advantage personally.

As a side note, this is the reason I've never gotten into Flesh and Blood. The creator/owner of the game and the vast majority of early investors in the game are all infamous NZ MTG angleshooters.
