I've actually owned a Black Lotus twice in my life, but ended up selling it each time. The first time I needed money when I was in college. The second time I had just moved and had a 1 year old and a 3 year old. Rather than regretting it, I'm actually pretty thankful that Magic cards are so liquid and it's fairly easy to turn my hobby into cash when I'm in a tight spot. That said, I keep telling myself that I'll save for a Black Lotus once my kids are done with college. It's just such a big part of the history of this game that's meant so much to me, I can't imagine getting another one some day. It will happen, right?
