Another Book Update (Patreon)

This week you probably won't see many new comics from me. That's because I'm frantically working on finishing Book 8 before the holidays begin. The first step was formatting all the comics and putting them into a PDF file to send to the printer. I do this in the program InDesign:

The final book is 142 pages long, similar to my previous books. One difference with some of my other books is that I didn't want a bunch of comics about Amonkhet Standard and other things that just wouldn't make much sense today. So I went through and removed any comics that felt too dated and added many newer comics that people could hopefully better relate to now.

The last two steps I need to complete this week are the front and back cover. For the back cover, I like to take one of my previous popular comics and color it. Here's where I am so far on this:

You can see that I've colored everything with flat colors. Unfortunately, I also had to clean up a bunch of the line work, because it was pretty sloppy on the original comic (which made it hard to color). The next step tonight will be doing shading and adding highlights to all of this, which will probably take me awhile because of all the bottles! Once this is done, I'll start on the front cover--hopefully tomorrow. My goal is to have the entire book done and ready to sent to the printer by Friday. Wish me luck!
