Can't argue with math!

The flaw in the math is you'd need to assign two digits for each letter, or you run into trouble after "J" (unless you used 11 for "U", etc, but that's pretty much the same as using 01 for "A", etc.)

According to Wikipedia, this statement ("every string of numbers eventually occurs in π") is not known to be true yet, although widely believed. Still an impressive work, and since both of the sequences are specifically given, we can get a constructive solution by brute force.

I guess I would just code MAGIC as 131793 without having to use zeros. Harder to decode, but once you make the string of numbers, you could still look for it in pi. Actually, using an online search, I found 131793 is at the 854119th decimal place in pi. So Magic is in pi!

Yeah, see my comment above that MAGIC is definitely found in pi.

Also, you're totally correct that this hasn't been proven. You can have an infinite number, without and repeats, and not have every message. For example, the number 101001000100001000001... and so on. The technical word for this is that pi must be "normal" to have every message in it. It's never been proven, but I'm willing to bet that it's true (especially since it's never been proven, so I'm unlikely to lose my bet!)
