My son and I did the Strixhaven prerelease and have been doing some pack wars with Strixhaven. He likes the set, but when he gets to the double faced cards, he's like, "Dad, can you just explain what this does? I'm tired of reading it." lol

lol you should see yugioh now with links extending combos and extra decks having pendulum monsters go back on top of the extra deck when destroyed/leaving the field, so the extra deck has face up and face down cards, and they even got hybrids to go all over the place. I can see why some prefer an older format in both cases; I shouldn't have to spend minutes reading a card and hope I play it right only to goof on a technicality (if and/or covers the same type for both, why use or?).
