This weekend I was traveling, but I found some Commander games at a shop I've never played at before. My son and I only had a few decks on us (because we were traveling), and I felt bad that our decks were probably a little too strong compared to the meta at the shop. On the other hand, one of the games went almost 2 hours, so I probably would have preferred if people played stronger decks and the game ended in a more reasonable time. Moral of the story: Commander is a hard format to balance!

Commander is indeed hard to balance. I personally miss the good old times where games usually took 2h but were really interesting. Nowadays, I feel even commander games go really fast. There are a lot of new 3-4 mana commanders with card advantage and decks snowball a looot faster than 10 years ago.

Yeah, I don't mind games that only last an hour. But it stinks when games always snowball and it always feels like one player is the archenemy.
