Wow, I didn't expect so many cards already. Any favorites?

I hate to say it, I may need a Mt. Doom for my legendary matters deck.... I've not been big into IP cross over.

Rose

I like that they don't seem to be powerful enough for Modern or Legacy.

Morten

Reprieve will most likely see Modern play. Besides, the first cards we were shown of Modern Horizons were Cabal Therapist and Serra iirc

I'm not always a good judge of power, so I'm going to wait to see the whole set. This set is taking the slot usually filled by a Modern Horizons set, so that makes me wonder if more powerful cards are on the horizon... get it? ;)

Rose

I do ;). My concern is that universes beyond feel like a very casual thing. I might be a grumpy old lady here, but I don't want to play a 1v1 format like Modern or Legacy where the bests decks are Solum vs Gandalf the white. Leave that stuff to commander please.

Rose

Reprieve is a non specific flavour that can easily be reprinted anywhere, so that I don't mind at all. And I like that a bunch of the cards seem to be existing cards with updated flavour.

Cardboard Crack

I totally agree. This set is replacing the normal slot of the Modern Horizons set, but hopefully it won't be the same power level!
