Well, it looked like the Standard bans were leaked, and now it appears to have been a hoax. The question is, does anyone really care about paper Standard anymore?

If a card gets banned in paper Standard, it would be banned in Arena as well, right?

Billie

Who knows with how they do digital edits to cards and how they function. Arena is an entirely different format than paper from what I recall. I don't do Arena as it's incredibly impersonal and very not my thing.

Billie

Is standard still a format?

Marcus Meitzler

Standard is identical in paper and on Arena. The rebalances are in their own format called "Alchemy"

Cardboard Crack

I'm pretty sure that's true for Standard. I have no idea for Alchemy.

Rose

Standard's always been a format I play because there's an incentive to. Without GP's and the disturbingly low amount of Regional Championships (In New Zealand our local Regional Championship is in Australia), It just feels like there's no reason to play it.

Cardboard Crack

This is a good point. The infrastructure of tournaments really needs to be in place for Standard to be supported. I can't believe we used to have 2000+ people at GPs!
