Hi guys!

As mentioned, I'm planning to do a podcast on the Gou/Sotsu video as I have been for the rest of my video catalogue talking about the process of making it. If you have any questions about this or the video in general at all, please feel free to leave them here and I'll answer them in the podcast! I'll be back with a proper update soon!

You mentioned in the video having a full Watadamashi theory that came down on the side of Mion not being the culprit – would you be down to share/expand on that theory at all, or to give any more specifics on how you personally would've liked to see Wataakashi handled (outside of the broad strokes you went into in the video)?

I do have a few questions, being how long was the upload process, what do you think passione did better than studio Deen/Vince versa, and you briefly mentioned it in the video but how do you feel about tsukihime as well as the others references higurashi makes towards the series.

I would actually love to hear your opinion on Eua's character as you haven't mentioned much personal about her in your video essay. For example how do you feel about her role in general, her referencing Featherine and the ending and her revelation with Hanyuu... and as another comment already stated, i would love to hear more about your personal opinion on the current state of Meguri as well as maybe on the other manga arcs ongoing atm like Oniokoshi and Hoshiwatashi hen!!

Something you didn't mention in your video but I think is something that brings the GouSotsu experience down significantly is the sheer repetition of it. Oni/wata/tata damashi are repeats of their respective arcs, down to several scenes not making sense after certain developments or thematically as you mentioned in the video. Then these arcs are again repeated in their answers arc. Then even nekodamashi is repeated at parts, leaving sotsu with exactly 2 episodes that aren't at least somewhat recaps. Now if they played on your expectations or something I could see the point of that, even if they'd still bore me a bit, but the thing is they don't. Even if you have never played Higurashi before Rena and Mion are the obvious culprit in the first 2 arcs, and the recaps tell you basically nothing. Tatariakashi has a bit more, but you can't even glean into the Teppei Satoko relationship in the damashi arcs. It's to a point where I question the point of most of the series, no one in the series except satoko and rika are relevant in any way, yet most of the episodes are spent repeating stuff completely unrelated to them in any way with obvious answers? I don't understand the point of even having sotsu instead of just having a couple more episodes in Gou to round everything up if they were just gonna repeat everything with obvious answers, that wouldn't suddenly fix issues with the plot, but at least it would make it feel like an anime with decent ideas with a very disappointing conclusion, instead of a huge drag where I honestly think the answers arc made everything *worse* by confirming the basic answers and constantly showing Satoko being cartoonishly evil.

Fantastic work on the video, I absolutely loved it. I wonder what your process is like for tackling something as massive as this. When you decided to make the video, how did you begin your script? A rough outline of what you wanted to say per arc, or did you organize later after getting some major general thoughts down? At what point do you start imagining what the visuals/background music might be like, and does that inform your dialogue in turn? Do you ever finalize a section only to go back and rework it after realizing something later, or did you in general know everything you wanted to say as you were writing it? With so much to convey, I imagine it was quite daunting to start breaking it down into manageable sections, but the final product is a masterpiece and my favorite video essay I've ever seen! Everything you said was engaging and provided such valuable insight and fair criticism.

Are you concerned that Meguri may have overcorrected Satoko and made her not evil ENOUGH? Cartoonishly evil as Sotsu Satoko was, the overall arc of her hurt and betrayal turning to a desire for revenge and abusive possessiveness felt real. Satoko in Meguri is executed better, but I don’t find the basic concept as compelling.

I enjoyed the video so much so I guess my only question would be what is your favorite and least favorite part of the video making process? Were there any parts that left you a bit stumped?
