I think BigBang needed to learn to work together as a group first, before they could break out and do their thing 😂 If you want to watch the episodes without the audio being cut, you may try this link? Fan-maintained site with a lot of BigBang content >>> https://bigbangplus-watch.carrd.co/#collections Also, Hyun-seung later debuted with Beast, and he appears in the first episode of Zip Daesung!

GD was 18 (international age) in 2006. In the video, he was even 17 coz it's not yet August (his birthday is August 18, BIGBANG debut is August 19). They were all teens when they debuted.

Jang Hyun Seung later left YG and joined Cube to become a member of Beast (later Highlight), which is another pretty big gen 2/3 idol group (: Some stuff happened and he left the group a few years later, and is now pursuing music as a solo artist! If you are interested to know about what he's been up to in recent years, you can find out in the very first episode of ZIP DAESUNG, he's the first guest of the show (https://youtu.be/lOLbZTwx1hQ?si=Ga5Cwe7kCm-4DB55) 😉 YG definitely wasn't aware of what BIGBANG (or rather, just GDYB) was meant to do on stage, his original plan seemed like he just wanted your typical boy groups in the 90s based on what they have been learning. But I think he brought up a very important point in this episode that the producers/staff are supposed to be helpers and not creators, and that's likely how it helped the group slowly discover their own colors over time. IMO you can hear how their music still had that generic kpop sound around 2006-2009 (despite having 3-4 major hits in Korea by then), but it felt like they had a huge musical breakthrough around 2010 onwards.

Thank you for reacting to this, watching the beginning of Big Bang with you is so interesting and fun. I’m also really glad that we have this documentary where we can see their beginnings, their first attempts, and the difficulties they went through just to debut. I love them 💗 and we’re looking forward to the continuation!)
