I just love the atmosphere of Big Bang’s old performances, everything about them is perfect. There’s such sincerity, naturalness, and pure energy, the feelings are simply indescribable. They were so talented right from the very beginning of their journey 💗 By the way, it’s funny that at the start they actually had the most choreography. T.O.P even mentioned that the choreography for La La La was the hardest one for him 😅💗

Bella babe

Bom's vocal really match well with GD and TOP's song. There are other song titled 'Oh Yeah' by GD & TOP feat Bom. Also GD makes a song called 'Having an Affair' in variety show back then and he got Bom as featured artist. Both songs are awesome and it seems like GD really likes Bom's voice 😁

K-pop story time : Low backing vocal in 2000s music shows actually has complicated reasons behind it. In 90s, many singers lip synced their songs under the reason of presenting best dance performance. Some of them abused lip syncing to cover up their bad vocals. There were many singers debuted without any vocal abilities but good looks. Especially 90s idols were accused of lack of talents due to lip syncing. (Not all lip syncing singers had bad vocals. Some of them had real talents but either the song they released required intense dancing that’s impossible to sing along or song itself features heavy audio effects that cannot be performed live. And the audio system at the time was not the best.) General public started to demand “real” singers to perform on music shows and some producers really listened to those demands. So in 2000s, producers of music shows set the rule for “real” singers. The first thing they did was putting the ‘LiVE’ sign whenever the singer actually performed live without lip syncing. The second thing was that they intentionally lower the volume of backing vocals. Ppl started to evaluate singers vocal abilities like a sports back then. There was a trend artificially removing AR or MR of misic show performances and compare vocals. You see, the live singing ability of vocals was taken very seriously back then. Single bad performance could drag the singers entire career down. It was tough time for all singers cus low backing vocal was good for demonstrating talent but also the worst for dancing performances. BB benefited this situation by promoting their amazing live vocal abilities. So called idols with real talents, not relying on looks. (This is why BB was often called ugly. Because many bad singers with only looks built up bad reputation of idols and singers. Ppl tend to divide singers into two categories, no talent with good looks and amazing talent with bad looks.) Once Kpop became a comprehensive art that includes fashion, choreography, stage design, and vocals, backing vocal volumes got lowder and lowder to recreate music video level of a performance. Live factor of the performance is no longer important but creating a perfect video contents became the ultimate goal. (Blame Youtube!) Okay, this is it;) I saw you talking about low backing vocal multiple times, I thought I could tell you a little story! Hope this helps.
