7:15 It's not surprising that JAY's losing his english (and english grammar). He moved from the US to S Korea when he was 9yo & has said in an interview (hosted by Eric Nam) that he didn't have any friends in S Korea that he could speak english with every day. JAY only had elementary school in the US. He's 24yo now, so his main school years & last 15 years were spent in S Korea. Korean grammar is structured differently to English. We say "I went to school". In Korean the sentence is structured "I school went". Whereas JAKE's situation is the reverse. He moved to Australia when he was around 8/9yo so had around 8 years of schooling in Australia including high school years when grammar & english would be at a higher level. The members have said in interviews that NI-KI & JAY's Korean is better than Jake's (which is not surprising). NI-KI moved to S Korea at 13yo (he'll be 21yo in Dec 2026). Japanese and Korean phrases share a very similar structure and grammar pattern so there's less 'converting' the brain has to do.
