Featuring a new boss battle and animations!

Hello there!

After 2 months (plus 1 extra week) of development, the next update is finally here. As you'll see in the changelog (links above), this one has a ton of changes and fixes to make the game feel smoother as I get closer and closer to version 1.0!

The main feature today is the new boss battle that is located at the bottom of the dungeon in the castle. The twist here is that the boss' arena is actually inside the top of the deity machine, as it broke that section of the dungeon when it arrived. So while this new boss is accessible only via descending the dungeon, its theme hasn't much to do with dungeons per se, and is more high-tech.

This guy is the largest character to date, and it was quite the challenge to hand-drawn all of his animations. Speaking of which, he comes with 3 new ero grabs/animations and the size difference between him and Maya is extreme, reflected in the 3 ero animations.

Aside from that, I've actually added some new skills to the early bosses, to better reflect the skills that Maya acquires from them. Two full stages were retouched, and also many fixes and changes.

With all of that now done, I need to continue to finish the refurbishing of the remaining stages, and then add the very final boss of the game, the big bad! Then I'll prepare things to make the future release on steam.

Best Wishes,Mega

How do you play these new versions with the old save files? Eager to see what's new

Vik Virtue

Lovely, and I'm actually not working for once~ Eager to try this out now :3

Boss battle was really neat! Honestly I think I enjoyed all of its grabs. Vore was good, ofc, though the tf one was really nice (I assume if it gets a bad end, it would probably go off of that one). I'm also intrigued how it'll play into the story. I figure it'll be the starting point of making getting into the deity machine for Maya's quest. Real quick, been having some bugs with the gallery. When I finish one, and it sends me back to the gallery area, Maya's health is at 0 until I touch a save point. And sometimes when there's roaming enemies, they capture Maya even after she's no longer on screen. Is a bit odd. Could possibly be because I'm going off a save, so maybe I should start a new game. But anyway, updates really nice, and I'm gonna poke around more and see some of the other changes~

Already figured it out. Superb work as always

Violent Insanity

Guess it'd be to late to ask for a CV scene with the new boss as well?

Is there something I'm missing? I've gone down deep in the dungeon of the castle. I can see a switch behind a gate at one point, and an unbreakable floor where endless purple slimes keep spawning.

xkira1995

Nvm, found it. Haven't played in a while and forgor something existed

Amane

where do I go for the new boss encounter, been looking everywhere, not sure what Im missing

I can only hope for even more preg stuff before the end, especially since there seemed to be groundwork laid for even generic pregnancies way back.

i suspect the answer to this is really intuitive/obvious to people with artistic talent, but what makes drawing a large creature harder or more labor-intensive than a small one? that sounds, to me, like saying it's harder to draw a smart character than a stupid one. isn't the distinction purely abstract? for reference, i basically can only draw stick figures. and somewhat realistic dongs, since drawing dongs efficiently was a vital skin in high school

You can just unpack the new version and run it, and the game itself will correctly load your savefiles from previous versions. This is due to the savefolder being on a common location shared by all versions. Unless you're trying to import saves from a very old version of the game, then you'd have to do a manual copy once.

I appreciate your detailed feedback as always Vik! I'm glad that you've liked all of the new animations. Regarding the bugs, thanks for the report I'll hunt those down asap!

Hi, I'm happy to hear that you've managed to advance. Basically, you have to use the Ground Pound skill to destroy those cracked blocks, which then allows Maya to reach the new boss.

Mega Blue Ball

Teleport to the dungeon, then go left and keep descending until you reach an area with pools of purple liquid. In the middle of this area, you can use the Ground Pound skill to break the blocks on the floor that appear to be cracked. Then descend that shaft and you will reach the door into the new boss.

Mega Blue Ball

I'll consider it after I'm done with the higher priority stuff, namely finishing the rest of the stage refurbishing and adding the final boss.

Ben

Its at the bottom of the dungeon, when you get to an area with lots of slimes and pools of purple liquid there is a area you can use the down smash to break some rocks

Ben

Can you make a bad ending for the new boss? I like the idea of him using the new dragon girl he made.

Mega Blue Ball

Think of each pixel as a LEGO block, for building objects or in this case, humanoids, etc. More pixels equals more lego blocks: A simple object can be built quickly with a low amount of pieces, but a higher resolution object requires adding, moving and positioning many more blocks. Just think about how, physically, you have to use your hands to grab more pieces and manipulate them. The effort grows exponentially because each piece must be placed with greater consideration among more possibilities. Now add animation and it multiplies the problem: think of animating a lego humanoind with the technique of stop-motion: every frame is more or less a new construction when referring to the position of limbs in any given motion (as, walking, attacking, etc). And the bigger more detail an object has, it means more pieces to rebuild or adjust per frame. So higher resolution + animation = exponentially more work. Increasing visual fidelity (as in, more blocks) dramatically increases the time, effort, and complexity required to create and animate it.

Same opinion. The preg stuff is the best

i actually played the new version later after posting that, and immediately could identify "wow this must have been way more work" lol. i didn't realize the scale of it, or at least couldn't grasp the significance until i'd seen the animation in full. i was going to edit my comment next time i came here

Amane

thank you ♥, ended up finding it too, was looking at the wrong area the whole time D:

I hope the final boss is a futa that makes Maya her breeding bitch if she loses.

Dirk Dagger

Great stuff as always, Mega~ highly anticipating a bad end now that Maya's a hefty dragon girl.

The shortcut you getr after the boss isn't really shortcut-y. Maybe have a grate that lets you get directly back to the boss chamber after beating it from the save point?
