Hello! Remember me? It's the person who said he was going to give you a comic and then did not do that!!! If it's any consolation, we just did two at once so we'd be ahead of the game for next month and it is our noble, well-intentioned fantasy that we will just try to do that from now on.

In my family, we do not watch obscure French Sci-Fi, but that's only because it never occurred to me to find any. Is that an established genre? As soon as I finish this newsletter, I'm going to actively seek it out. For example, I wouldn't have said there was such a thing as Epic Sci-Fi Poetry, let alone Epic Swedish Sci-Fi Poetry, but there absolutely is and it's called Aniara. It's mad literary, written by a Nobel laureate and shit. You can read it here if you want to be super, super depressed for a long time. The movie that came out of it in 2018 is how I found out about the whole thing and it's harrowing as fuck also.

Mork telling me about his evening Gazing At The Morb reminded me of when we decided to watch the Percy Jackson Movies. They're redoing all that shit now, literally pulling it out by the roots and starting over on Disney Plus, but the original movie took almost three evenings to watch because the kids had to pause it so often to explain why it was not only wrong but an affront to our humanity, calling both on the original text of the work plus their own excursions into the myths themselves. I never had high hopes for the film, for all of the reasons you might guess, plus, I had seen the trailer with my eyes. But, as grist? As the raw material from which jokes are made? It's a motherfucking nurse log. That's some wholesome family fun.

Hey! If you ended up with a copy of Lexcalibur II, I hope it's doing what I intended, which is to give you something else to feel for a little while. It's kinda weird how everything burned down and then got built back up about half-way and we're supposed to forget it all or something, but I keep feeling it I guess. Good times for poets are bad times for everybody else.

Yrs,

Jerry

Lex2 is pure joy & you continue to be my favorite author! I think y'all mentioned 3 Lexcaliburs, so as to create a box set. But as I look at 2 Lexcaliburs, Lookouts, and a collection of the anthology books I can't help but need Bookends.

I'd say "Alphaville" sits really nicely in the mid-sixties, French Sci-fi nook.
