Whale shark girlfriend x female reader story idea (Patreon)

 Here's 450 words of story idea to go with this character I came up with last night.  

Rhinca, a whale shark mer, lives near a tropical reef, and spends most of her time alone, though she’s very friendly and happy to chat and exchange news with other sea-folks. She’s, as you’d expect, big, but she’s a pretty gentle giant. 

She meets her reader when she’s scuba-diving, looking for a wreck, and runs into difficulties. She gets her flipper caught and can’t escape, and she’s beginning to run out of oxygen when Rhinca discovers her and helps her out. Rhinca takes her back to her little boat, and decides to hang around for a bit. Her reader recovers after her scare, and spends a long time either in the water with Rhinca or hanging over the side talking to her. 

One evening, Rhinca comes to her and says there’s a storm coming. Before she leaves, she rises up out of the water and kisses the reader gently, smiling, and then vanishing. The reader makes for port, and spends the storm ashore. When she goes back out to the wreck site after the storm has passed, there’s no sign of Rhinca. She waits for three days, making dives and carrying on with her work, but doesn’t see her, and starts to worry. There’s an island that juts out not far from a nearby reef, so she makes for it one afternoon, and finds Rhinca tangled up in a load of fishing line, dehydrated, and injured. Her injuries aren’t serious, but she’s drying out. 

The reader wraps her in wet cloth and gives her fresh water to drink to rehydrate her more quickly. Then she begins to cut loose all the line around her. It takes a while, but when she’s free, she lies there, exhausted for a while. The reader lies down beside her and they hug. Rhinca is too weak to get herself back into the ocean, so the reader gives her one end of a rope to hold, and very slowly drives the boat away, pulling her into the sea once more. 

One there, she begins to swim gently, and the reader drops anchor nearby, keeping an eye on her as she recovers. 

When she’s better, the reader and she share another kiss, lying in the shallows, and Rhinca and the reader talk about the wrecks, and the reader’s work. Rhinca promises to take her to the wreck of the ship she’s been looking for, and they explore it together. The reader knows that there are treasures there which will have to be excavated, and when she informs her university that she’s found it, then they begin the process of coordinating an archaeological dive. 

The reader is able to extend her stay, and be with Rhinca… :)
