Warning: nervous fluff. And lots of it (1860 words of it anyway) :D

Happy Valentine's, Part One - Small monster boyfriend edition.

Hope you enjoy!

___________

You nearly missed the buzzing of your phone over the sound of the kettle boiling, but you just caught it and dashed over to the other side of the kitchen before it rang off. “Hello?” you chirped without looking at who it was.

“Oh, hey,” came a familiar, shy, slightly scratchy voice on the other end. “It… It’s me…”

“Hey Riekken,” you giggled. “What’s up?” You could just picture that adorable goblin with his big ears pinned awkwardly all the way back, shuffling his feet and biting his lip with his sharp teeth.

“So… I was wondering… Um… Are you free? Wait, shit, of course you’re not. Why would you be free? You’re probably getting ready for a date or something. Shit. Forget I called…” there was an awkward fumbling at the other end, and you heard him mutter another few curses.

“Wait!” you yelled, desperate not to let your friend hang up. “Wait, Riek, please…!”

“Yeah?” he croaked a second or so later.

With another giggle, you said, “I just got in from work, like, ten minutes ago? I’m making a cup of tea, and I’m in my pyjamas already. I’m not going anywhere tonight. What’s up?”

“Oh.” He sounded so thoroughly stumped that you had to laugh.

“Riek?”

“Um…” he obviously swallowed thickly, and then said falteringly, “So… I was hoping you might be free? Er… Is… Is there any chance I could… Um… Just drop by really quickly?” Under his breath you heard him mutter another, ‘shit’.

“Sure! As long as you don’t mind the hideous sight of some extremely embarrassing banana print pyjamas,” you snorted. “I’d love that.”

“Ok, good. Coz… like… I’m… um…”

And then the doorbell rang and you laughed.

Still grinning, you opened the door with the phone to your ear. “That was quick,” you said, hanging up.

In the corridor to your apartment stood a three foot tall goblin, looking honestly the most awkward you’d ever seen him, and that was saying something. Riekken was an amazing mathematician, and an incredible teacher, but socially he was… less adept.

His skin, a beautiful dark, Prussian blue, almost glowed in the soft lights of the hallway, and he his white, geometric, facial clan tattoos stood out stark as chalk on a blackboard. His scarlet hair was pulled back into a sharp ponytail that bobbed and swung behind him as he bounced nervously on the balls of his tiny feet. In one three-fingered hand he held a bunch of gorgeous, seasonal delphinium blossoms, and tucked under the other was obviously a card and a box of chocolates. He slid his phone into his back pocket and looked up at you, his long ears going back like a dog’s when intimidated. “Hi.”

“Riek?” you breathed, hardly daring to believe what you were seeing. You’d crushed on him for as long as you could remember, ever since getting your job on the same university campus, but he’d always seemed like the ‘distant, distracted professor’ type. And now here he was, still in his work suit, standing - or rather ‘jiggling nervously’ - in your corridor, bearing flowers and chocolates. For you.

He honestly looked like he was either going to bottle it and run, or throw up. Or maybe both.

“Come in,” you said, plucking nervously at the hem of your frankly ridiculous pyjama top. Yellow was not your colour. Perfect.

Riekken grinned, flashing all of his small, sharp teeth at you in a delighted smile, and he hurried inside.

“So, I realise this is… um… ah, shit,” he said, turning round in the narrow apartment hallway, “I’m sorry. I’m so nervous. I talked myself out of this about eight times on the way here.”

“Stop,” you said, and his ears went rigid, sticking horizontally out from his head in the most adorable way you’d ever seen. “Riekken, it’s perfect. I’m sorry you put yourself through so much stress on my account. I… I honestly thought I didn’t stand a chance with you, but… apparently I do?”

“Oh. More than a chance,” he chuckled.

“Even with the questionable evening fashion wear?”

“Especially with the questionable evening fashion wear,” he grinned, holding the flowers out to you.

“Well, thank heavens for that,” you laughed, taking them and trying to find a vase or something to put them in. “You want something to drink?”

“What’s the strongest stuff you’ve got?” he asked shakily.

You turned back over your shoulder and suggested, “Whisky?”

“Perfect. Lots of it.”

You found a vase for the flowers and a glass for the whisky, grabbed your tea and led him through into your living room. He’d been over a couple of times, but always in the company of the rest of your group for dinner or whatever. This was the first time you’d been alone with him, and he hopped up onto your squashy old couch looking more than a little pale, despite the beautiful, rich colour of his skin.

Drawing deeply on the whisky before setting it on a coaster on the table, he gazed up at you with his incredible eyes - a sapphire so gorgeous you could lose yourself in their depths if you looked too long - and smiled shyly. “I know I’m not… maybe the most conventional choice or whatever… but… I think you’re amazing… I’m not good at speeches or declarations or whatever, but you always brighten my day, you’re always smiling, no matter what, and…” he shook his head and turned away, knotting his knuckly fingers in his lap with a shrug.

You reached out towards him and covered his hands with one of yours. He was so small, but so wiry and strong. His skin was thick and tough, but soft too, and as you played with his knuckles, trying to get him to unclench his nervous hands, you heard him loose a rasping breath.

Glancing down at his face, you watched him roll his head back into the sofa cushions and close his eyes, partly in relief and partly in pleasure.

Taking a chance, you leaned down and pressed a kiss to his cheek. As you’d suspected, his ears went stiff again, almost comically pricked up with surprise, and you had to laugh. “Oh Riek,” you giggled.

Immediately, they drooped and he looked away, embarrassed.

You reached out and cupped his sharp, v-shaped jaw in your palm and turned him back a little to face you, before leaning down again and kissing him all the way to the extremely sensitive tips of those expressive ears. The gesture left him gasping and shuddering, small chest heaving, and in one smooth motion you straddled him, being careful not to crush him. You took his face in both hands and tilted it up, pressing a kiss into his thin lips.

Unable to respond immediately, Riekken let his eyes flutter open and only when he saw the genuine love in your expression did he react. His palms pressed into your thighs and he moaned, kissing you back and shifting his hips. You felt him hardening beneath you, and he ran his hands up your back, under your top, moaning again as he felt the warmth of your skin.

“You’re so beautiful,” he whispered between kisses.

“Of all the ways I’ve thought about how this might happen,” you said, pulling back to look at him again. “This wasn’t how I imagined it.”

Fear flickered across his eyes, but it vanished as you smiled again.

“Thank you,” you said. “Thank you for being brave enough to make the first move.”

He stared at you a little while longer, stunned and overwhelmed and overjoyed, before he questioningly raised your top, halting just below your breasts and raising an eyebrow.

You nodded, and he lifted it free of you, tossing it aside and immediately cupping your breasts in his small, dexterous hands. He kneaded them gently, clearly adoring the weight of them against his palm, and he brought his mouth to one hardening nipple and kissed it softly, reverently, before sucking and then closing his sharp teeth carefully until you leaned back, spine arching, and let out a deep, low groan.

His other hand shifted to the waistline of your pyjamas, and he slid his fingers down, keeping eye contact with you the whole time. Your lips parted, your breath heaved as he explored you, but when he felt how wet you were already for him, he froze, fingertips resting on either side of your aching clit. He whispered your name like a prayer, and you smiled. “Told you I’d imagined you and me together before,” you rasped. “Oh gods, Riek, please… please move… please do… something…”

Growing in confidence, he circled your clit experimentally, and you tried not to lurch out of his lap with the jolts of pleasure he sent searing through you. Soon you were shuddering in his grasp, and you could feel his hard length grinding against your thigh as he worked you closer and closer, your mind spinning, your fingers grabbing at his bony shoulders to steady yourself.

“Riekken!” you whimpered as he nudged a teasing finger just below your clit again, caressing you gently - too gently - keeping you just shy of what you wanted. What your whole body craved now. “Please!”

He bit his lip, still apparently in awe that he had got you to this point, and, with a thumb on your clit, he sank two thick fingers inside you and curled them. His fingertips caught that little rough spot inside you that made sparks dance along your whole body, filling you with an intense pleasure that you had never experienced before from anyone. With a gasp, you came, clenching around his fingers, shaking and convulsing in his lap, bending forwards, torso curling under the force of your release. You pressed your face close to the side of his head, inhaling the scent of him as you came in seemingly unending waves of pleasure.

He stroked you through it, easing you, prolonging your pleasure until it tipped into oversensitivity, and you grunted. Carefully he withdrew his fingers and, with his other hand still steadying your hips, he licked himself clean, clearly savouring the taste of you. “That was so beautiful,” he rasped. “You are so beautiful.”

Dazedly, you leaned back and looked at him, flushed, and bit your lip. “I want you, Riek,” you said. “I’ve wanted you for a long while now…”

Riekken’s eyes closed again and he beamed a pure and disbelieving smile before opening them again. “You want to go somewhere more comfortable?” he asked, voice a little hoarser than usual. “I’m small enough for the couch, but I’m not sure you fit that well.”

“Bedroom,” you agreed. “Not sure I can stand just yet though…”

You staggered off him a minute or so later, and slid all the way out of your ridiculous pyjama bottoms, letting them hit the floor in a pile and leaving them there as you stalked away towards your bedroom. If you felt silly or a little unsteady, as you glanced back over your shoulder and saw the expression on your goblin’s face, any insecurities vanished.

This was so adorable! I mostly prefer my monster loves bigger and stronger than me, but Riekken is too cute to say no to. And the colour of his skin! 😫👌🏻
