“Come on,” he grinned, holding your hands firmly but gently in his own cool hands as he led you through the softly-undulating sand dunes towards the beach.

“Ok, now close your eyes,” the naga chuckled, and the last thing you saw was his handsome face, full of hope and looking a little nervous, eyes glowing despite the brightness of the day.

When you opened them, after being guided carefully over the last rise in the dunes, you saw the way his brilliant blue and green tail flashed in the sun, but he didn’t give you long to admire him before he pulled back to reveal a picnic blanket laid out on the sand, and a bunch of sweet peas in a little plastic cup in the middle.

“Surprise?” he said, seeming so nervous and lisping softly.

You leapt at him and he caught you in his arms and hugged you tightly as you whispered, “It’s perfect.”
