Well folks, here's September's story, and on the first of the month too! You told me you wanted more non binary monsters, and here's an NB demon for you, based on a canine form which was partly suggested through Discord.

No warnings, I don't think! Enjoy - it's a long one, at 6212 words :).

---

When you saw the bright splash of colour on a telegraph pole in town, you paused and meandered over to it. The weather was stiflingly hot, and you wanted nothing more than to cling to the cool shadows of the high trees or perhaps head down to the river with an ice cream in hand. Instead, you had agreed to come shopping with your best friend, and while you waited for him outside, you found yourself momentarily distracted by the poster. Instead of going back inside to find out what was taking him so long, you lingered in the strong sunshine a little while longer to read it, curious.

“Mama Mortiella’s Travelling Circus!” was emblazoned across the top in an old fashioned, white font, with a fuchsia pink ‘big top’ tent in the background and a rearing white centaur in the centre with a small, scantily clad tiefling balancing on his back.

The clop of enormous hooves behind you made you look round and you found yourself blinking up into the warm, friendly face of your best friend in the whole world. Daël was a colossal Clydesdale centaur who looked like he should be working on a construction site or something, but in fact was a huge maths nerd and actually worked for a studio that produced a series of hugely popular computer games.

He blew his long, shaggy, brown hair out of his dark eyes and cocked his head slightly. “Circus? You want to go?”

Shyly, you nodded. “I’ve never been,” you said. “But I’m always worried that they don’t treat the performers well, or that they’ll have performing animals…”

He reached round and drew out his phone from the saddle bags he wore over his back, and muttered aloud as he typed in the name of the circus into a search engine. “Seems like they’re actually one of the ethical ones,” he said. “Good reviews too… I didn’t know they were coming to Starfall Springs. We should go! I’ll text Khirès and Niles too and see if they fancy coming.”

You nodded and smiled, and let him organise the whole thing.

Three days later the circus rolled into town in a caravan of brightly coloured waggons, mostly pulled by big centaurs with hugely fluffy hocks, and they set up on the broad meadow near the temple and the kelpie pond. A colossal loxodon could be seen helping a team of centaurs put up the big top tent, and more than a few of the townsfolk wandered out during their lunch break to watch them all setting up. A few even got chatting, but you hung back shyly.

Daël immediately became best mates with another Clydesdale centaur and while you were watching amusedly from a distance, Niles came over to you and dug you in the hip with his sharp elbow. The goblin grinned at you, all sharp teeth and black eyes, and waggled his long, tapering ears at you, earrings glinting in the sunlight. “I swear that boy could make friends with a rock,” he laughed and you had to agree.

The next evening when the circus formally opened, you, Daël, and Niles were waiting by the edge of the trees for the last member of your group when you spotted a bone-white drider scuttling hurriedly down the hill, his long white hair trailing behind him as he raced down towards you and skittered to a halt next to you, breathing hard.

“Sorry!” he gasped, his red eyes squeezing shut as he leaned on the nearest pine tree and wheezed. “I’m sorry! I was doing so well but then I got distracted by Ziva and had to help her do her hair for her date tonight and…”

“Khirès, it’s fine!” you laughed. “Take a minute…” The Silkfoot family’s chaotic oldest son had never been known for the dependability of his timing, but you all loved him anyway.

When the asthmatic drider had recovered, after taking a puff from his inhaler, the four of you set off for the bright, inviting lights and cheerful music of the travelling circus.

The tiefling who was selling tickets for the main show was ineffably beautiful, with rich purple skin and curling horns tipped with gold and studded with bezel-set gems. Rings clinked on their fingers and a sultry smile welcomed you all inside. The atmosphere amongst the stalls and side-shows was unlike anything you’d ever experienced. A rich aroma of spices and herbs filled the air from a vendor selling exotic baked goods, and a stand selling trinkets and jewellery made by goblins and dwarves immediately drew Niles’ attention.

“Yeah, yeah,” he said, waving a gnarled hand at Khirès when he’d snickered. “I’m a stereotype. Bite me.”

“You’d enjoy it too much,” Khirès purred and the goblin shivered before flashing him a sharp-toothed grin and turning to speak to the goblin in their native tongue.

Daël wasn’t the least bit interested in jewellery, and from his high vantage point, he spotted the coconut shy and a few other games. “You wanna have a go?” he asked.

“At what?”

When you said you couldn’t see from where you were - although it shouldn’t have surprised you - he caught you off guard and simply picked you up, holding you in the air like a kitten.

“Yeah, I see it, put me down you big dumb brute!” you laughed and he obliged. “Yeah, I’ll come play some games with you.”

A sudden burst of fireworks made Khirès rear up slightly, drawing his white front legs up in surprise, but he added with a nervous chuckle, “Mind if I tag along? Niles is gonna be here forever chatting up the cute goblin lady…”

“Just because you have a thing for small folk,” Niles quipped in Common without turning round. “No need to act all prissy and spoiled…”

All four of you laughed, and then left Niles to his conversation while Khirès blushed crimson. The traditional games were surprisingly fun, and while you weren’t ever going to beat either Daël or Khirès on the high striker (Daël won himself an absurd ‘slime in a jar’ prize for almost sending the puck into orbit), you didn’t do too badly at all on the coconut shy, knocking four of the five coconuts off their perches and earning the compliments of a beautiful harpy and a tiny phone charm with a cute little cartoon coconut on in the process.

The place was gradually filling up as the main show drew closer, and once the four of you had reunited, you made your way towards the main tent. Just outside was a mermaid in a large glass tank, singing a truly haunting song that reverberated in your ears, and all those who found themselves near her drew to a halt to hear her voice.

“That’s just a taste, folks,” said a tall, slender woman with the blood red eyes and pale skin of a vampire. “Yndara will be singing in the main show. Head on inside and take your seats now!”

Because you were with two people who couldn’t use the tiered seating, you ended up being near the front. Niles hopped onto Khirès’ back at first, which made the drider shiver and laugh, but since Daël was even taller, the goblin hopped nimbly from the white back of the drider to the dark back of the centaur, and settled down with a grin at him when he turned round and flicked an ear at him with an amused smile. You remained on your feet and leaned on the barrier that separated the crowd from the arena.

The ringmaster was a huge white tiger rakshasa in an attractive, military cut red coat, and as he stepped out onto the sand of the arena, an excited buzz went round the gathered audience before they all fell quiet.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” he roared, “Boys and girls, and those of us who transcend the gender binary…” at that he got a huge roar from the crowd and everyone laughed. “Welcome, welcome, welcome. It is a real treat for us to return once again to the place that many of us regard as our second home - the first, of course, being the circus itself. Starfall Springs, have we got a treat in store for you tonight!”

He paced around the edge of the arena in a disk of light from above, the gold buttons on his red ringmaster’s coat flashing in the torchlight around the perimeter.

“We’ve got fire eating demons and bareback centaur riders, we’ve got trapeze artists and a mermaid’s song that will stop your hearts! Well,” he added with a playful shrug, “Perhaps she’ll hold off on going that far… It all depends on how enthusiastic you are for the rest of our little family!”

He strutted around the ring as he finished his introductory monologue, his bushy tail bristling behind him, and then he called on the first act.

A lone white coated centaur cantered out into the ring, his tail plaited with a pink ribbon and his human torso bare but studded with glitter. His white-blond hair was tied into a plait as well that hung all the way down to his withers. He did a lap of the ring before a trapeze artist was lowered down from the ceiling, dangling by her knees. She landed on the centaur’s back as he completed his second lap, and she remained in a perfect, needle-straight handstand all the way around while the audience applauded.

A second centaur emerged, also pure white, and another trapeze artist descended to ride beside the first in a perfect handstand as well. The sequence continued until there were six white centaurs and six delicate riders, and they formed elaborate stacks and configurations all while the centaurs continued to canter around the arena to the raucous applause of the audience.

Daël was entranced by the centaurs. “They’re so beautiful,” he whispered, eyes wide and glassy.

Khirès couldn't take his red eyes off the human in the centre of the display and he nodded vaguely.

They finished by leaping - as one - over an enormous pole of fire before exiting the tent to make way for the next act.

Act after act followed, and your heart was in your mouth for most of it. The half-orcish strongwoman was in fact half rock golem, and she was a glorious sight to behold as she shattered boulders which had been dragged out by a big black bull-taur, with her bare fists. The mermaid’s song brought a moment of calm to the wild show before things began to barrel towards the finale.

One of the last acts was the fire-eating demon, and another hush descended on the crowd as the rakshasa introduced, “Ilvinath, the incredible demon, called straight from the raging depths of Hell itself and bound by the incredible powers of our very own sorceress!” At this, a cloaked figure emerged from the shadow-shrouded entrance tunnel, cracking her own bull whip for effect as the overhead lights changed to an angry, blood red and the flames around the arena flickered to blue. Long purple hair flowed and coiled from the hood which covered her face, and the train of the cloak dragged behind her, smoking and smoldering softly.

Niles leaned down and hissed in your ear, “Nice use of fire magic. It’s actually quite hard to maintain it at such a low level without burning the fabric…” He should know, being one of the rarer magic users amongst his kind.

Your eyes were drawn to the broiling shadows in the entrance to the tent, however, and out of it stepped a huge creature that drew gasps from the crowd.

“Never before has a demon like this walked the earth,” the ringmaster went on as the sorceress turned and cracked her whip beside the emerging demon. “Let alone has one been tamed by a mere mortal!”

It snapped and snarled at her, but the tail of the whip had been nowhere near its smoky grey flank. As it emerged fully from the darkness, everyone took a breath as one.

Its form was similar to that of a dog, but it was the size of a horse, and it had two pairs of front legs. On every paw, onyx talons glinted, toes flexing as they bore the demon’s weight while it prowled steadily forwards. Its pointed, canine head nosed this way and that, taking in the scene as it stalked silently forwards. Its black coat was thick and shaggy, streaked across its ridged back with crimson in places, almost like the stripes of a thylacine. Two pairs of eyes burned in its dark head with the pulsing glow of flowing lava, the larger pair in the usual place and the smaller set just a little back from them, and as it slowly opened its maw to reveal two rows of extremely sharp teeth, you gasped; the jaw opened much wider than any earthly creature’s would, and it had two tongues.

Khirès shivered and stepped back, nearly knocking the drink out of an orc’s hand as he shifted uneasily. “Fuck,” he hissed after he’d apologised to the orc, “That’s the strangest thing I’ve ever seen…”

Niles, unperturbed, grinned and said, “I wonder if it’s got an extra one of everything…”

You leaned your weight against the barrier of the arena and stared as the demon made a slow circuit of the sand. Wherever its paws hit the ground, smoke coiled upwards around its six legs, as if it trod on hallowed ground. Its body was lithe but muscular, its large ears standing up as perfect triangles of darkness from its black head. Honestly, while everyone else seemed more than a little frightened of it, you’d never seen anything more beautiful in your whole life.

As if it sensed your thoughts, the demon suddenly looked straight at you and stopped. The sorceress cracked her whip, but it didn't move. It continued to stare at you.

Taking a different tack, the sorceress approached and knelt in front of it to caress the fur on its head. The demon leaned into the touch, clearly enjoying it, but didn’t take its blazing golden eyes from you. The audience gradually began to look in your direction and you suddenly wanted nothing more than to curl up and disappear. Again, as if responding to your thoughts, the demon bowed its head almost respectfully, and then playfully nudged the sorceress so that she staggered a little.

“Pesky little puppy,” she chided in a voice that carried and made the audience laugh. “How about we give you something to keep you busy?”

The demon turned away, prowling like a hunting lioness to a set distance, and then stopped and faced her.

Their act wasn’t all that complicated - you assumed that the demon itself was the real show - but it involved the demon leaping through fire, and finished with the sorceress turning the flames various colours and directing jet after jet straight at the demon. Immune to the heat, it then ‘consumed’ the fire, and exhaled it up into the vast space above as if it were a dragon.

When it bowed at the end of the act, it faced you and lowered its head while maintaining eye contact with you.

When it had prowled away backstage, Daël looked down at you and said, “I think it was rather taken with you… You want to be careful; attracting the attention of demons isn't exactly a good idea…”

You couldn’t get the image of the sleek, muscular demon moving and leaping amongst the flames, and barely saw anything of the final act. It might have involved the loxodon and a number of rakshasa, but you couldn’t be certain.

When the show was finally over and the whole circus troop emerged to line up for their curtain call, you noticed that the demon was staring at you once again. After they had left, and the thunderous applause had died down, the tent began to empty.

Feeling perhaps a little shaken, you followed the others out and emerged into the fresh night air. “I think I need a drink,” you murmured and the others agreed.

“It was hot in there,” Khirès said. “Come on, I’m parched. There was a great fruit smoothie stall over there I think.”

Drinks in hand, you had just turned to ask the others what they wanted to do when a movement in the shadows of the big top tent caught your eye. You looked over to find the demon from the show staring at you.

“Fuck,” you hissed, “Look…”

Niles was at your side in an instant, his hands ready to form the wards his people knew to guard against demons and spirits, but the sorceress stepped out from the tent flaps a moment later and brushed her fingers over the demon’s skull in a friendly gesture. She wasn’t wearing her voluminous cloak now, and it was plain to see that she was a tiefling with graceful horns and lilac skin. Her eyes were golden, but didn’t have the same intensity as her demon’s. When the demon turned its head up and rumbled something you couldn't quite make out, she trilled a musical laugh and turned to face your group.

With a crooked finger, she beckoned you over, and, warily, you approached. Daël’s massive bulk was a comfort beside you, and even Khirès’ eerie, skeletally-white form behind you went some way to making you feel safe, but it was Niles and his magic that reassured you most. It practically crackled off him, and the sorceress smiled. “We won’t hurt you,” she said. “Ilvinath and I were just heading out for a bite to eat…”

At Niles’ little growl, she laughed and added, “Not like that. Ilya usually wears a glamour when we walk the circus together like this, but tonight they insisted that they didn’t want to.” Her golden eyes found yours and she said pointedly, “I wonder why that was…?”

You began to stare at him and they nudged her hand before stepping over to you. Their paws no longer made the ground sizzle and hiss, and as they came to a halt in front of you, you realised just how big they were. Their muzzle was at the same height as your face. Before you could react at all, a violent shiver ran down your spine and you felt like an ice cube had slithered along your skin. You gasped, but a second later, a voice filled your head as the demon spoke to you mind-to-mind.

“I’m sorry if I frightened you,” the voice said in a slow, rumbling purr. “Or if I embarrassed you back there in the show.”

You looked from the demon to your friends and back again, but none of them appeared to have suffered the same phenomenon, and you said aloud, “Can you read my mind?”

The demon gave a sort of shrugging nod. “I’m better at sharing my own thoughts with you, but I can sense your emotions very clearly.”

“Are you really a demon?” you blurted and found the creature nodding. “And you’re really bound by…” you turned to look at the tiefling whose name you didn't know.

“Call me Alienna,” she said. “And no. I didn’t summon them. Found them roaming the streets like a lost puppy…” She petted the canine demon beneath the chin as though it were a favoured hunting hound and cooed softly.

They growled at her, raising their lips and revealing those wicked-sharp teeth, but she just bopped them playfully on the nose and scoffed. They turned back to you and said in that silent voice which apparently only you could hear, “It’s true. I’m not bound. I’m not dangerous either. Not really…”

“Right…”

Niles was practically frothing at the mouth beside you, his fingers ready to begin warding the creature off, and as Ilvinath turned their head towards him, Niles jumped as if he’d been scorched. He snarled and made a sign in the air, at which the demon’s hackles rose and they stepped back, head lowered, snarling.

“Hey now,” Alienna barked. “There’s no need for that, goblin. Ugh, you folks are always the same. Come on, Ilya.” And she turned away, purple dress rustling.

As they passed you, the demon sighed and said, “You really are in no danger from me. Any of you.”

“I know,” you said, and the sincerity of your statement rang through the both of you like a temple bell.

The demon smiled and said, “I… I’m glad to have met you.”

“Why?” you asked on impulse.

The demon swallowed and said, “Will you… I mean… Would you be prepared to meet me alone?”

“When?”

“After midnight. I’ve got one more show tonight on the stage over there by the musicians’ stage. I should finish at midnight.”

“Alright, I’ll be there.”

“Thank you.” Was all they said, and as they turned to stalk off, their form rippled and became that of a huge Great Dane with white and black splotches.

Niles rounded on you. “What the fuck did you just agree to?” he snarled.

“Easy,” you said. “We’re just going to talk later after their other show.”

“I don’t like it,” he muttered.

You laid your hand on his gnarled, bony shoulder and said, “I appreciate you looking out for me, and I know how you feel about demons after what happened with your sister, but I’ve got a good feeling about this.”

“Well your ‘good feeling’ can go fuck a goat,” he said. “I don’t like this one bit.” He took off a silver necklace that he always wore and handed it to you. “Keep this on you. If anything feels weird, you hold it out to that demon and it won’t be able to come near you.”

You nodded. “But it won’t affect them if it’s not on show?”

“Correct,” he snapped, though he sounded like he wished it would hurt them anyway.

You leaned down and kissed the crown of his head - a gesture of great friendship and respect among his kind - and thanked him sincerely.

Time passed slowly, though you only had an hour or so to wait until midnight, and as the minutes ticked closer, you parted from the others and wound your way over to the music stage where a folk metal band was playing some pretty decent music. In the centre of the stage, acting out the story of the song, Ilya and Alienna appeared to be playing some kind of beauty and the beast scenario. Ilya was up on their hind legs, though when they sank down onto their haunches like a begging dog, she ran her arms around their torso and hugged them.

The musicians finished their set and Ilya vanished in a dramatic puff of smoke.

They reappeared in the shadows beside the stage and blinked their four golden eyes at you. “You came,” said their rasping voice in your mind. “I didn’t think your friends would let you.”

“They’re worried, I’m not going to lie,” you said as you approached and they sat down and wagged their tail a little.

You felt more than heard their sigh. “I understand,” they said.

“Why did you want to talk to me alone anyway?”

They shrugged. “I don’t get the chance to talk to people outside the family much.”

“The family?”

They looked around, their gaze encompassing the teeming circus ground and all the strange and wonderful shows still going on all over the place. “The circus. We’re tight-knit, and wary of strangers… I… I feel everything here - hope, amazement, enjoyment, sadness, despair, boredom, anxiety…” they trailed off and sighed again. “I feel everything that everyone in that audience feels when they first see me.” Their eyes found your face again and they said, still communicating silently, “But I’ve never sensed what you felt for me before.”

“No one has ever thought you beautiful?”  you asked, too amazed to be embarrassed.

They shrugged. “Perhaps, but not the way you did. And…” they sighed, about to say something else, but they stopped and said, “Anyway. Would you like to get a drink?”

“Sure,” you said and let them lead you through the milling crowds towards a bar on the far side. “What should I call you? Is Ilvinath your real name?”

They chuckled and glanced sidelong at you. “It isn’t my true name, no,” they said wryly, “But it’s what you may call me. Or Ilya, if you like. Ilvinath is a bit of a mouthful, even for you humans who only have one tongue…”

Another question bubbled out of you before you could stop it. “You can’t speak, aloud I mean…?”

Their regular footfalls faltered and they opened their mouth a little. “I… can,” they said in a voice like a knife blade dragged over plate glass, “But it… is difficult for me and… not pleasant… for you.”

You had to admit they had a point as your ears rang with the unpleasant sound of it and goosebumps prickled along your arms. “I’ve never met anyone like you,” you said.

“I should hope not,” they chuckled. “There aren’t very many of my kind. My closest relatives are hellhounds, and I should hope you’ve never seen one of them.”

“What are you?” you asked carefully. “I mean, I know you said you’re a demon, but… why are you… you know… so nice?” you finished with an awkward giggle. “I thought demons were all about sucking souls dry and wreaking havoc…”

They laughed aloud, a sound that made you think of the broken shards of a shattered vase, and said, “I was a familiar to a witch for a very long time. He changed me in a lot of ways, and I simply never went back to Hell. No one has missed me and I rather enjoy it up here.” They fixed you with an odd look and you frowned, but they didn’t elaborate.

You reached the bar which was run from an ancient airstream trailer and you took a seat beside a jet black ooze who was trying to keep their gelatinous body on the stool while simultaneously absorbing as much of the lime green contents of an enormous glass as possible on the bar.

Instead of taking a seat beside you, Ilya popped their front-most paws up onto the bar and the dragonborn bartender looked over and laughed. “Ilya!” they grinned. “Been a while since I’ve seen you out and about like that. It’s nice to see you!”

Ilya bowed their head bashfully and said aloud, faltering slightly, “A drink… for me and whatever this lovely human… would like. Put it on my tab.”

“Aye, aye,” the dragonborn said and took your order.

After that, Ilya asked you questions about what your life was like, what you did for work, and what you enjoyed doing, and they listened quietly all the while you spoke. You were honestly surprised that you were able to keep up the conversation, given how socially shy you tended to be, but something about their presence reassured you and encouraged you out of your shell.

Your friends texted you to ask where you were, and you excused yourself to reply. Ilya watched you, eyes growing doleful, and then said, “I suppose I should let you return to them.”

The sonorous, ringing notes to their voice in your head made you nearly sway in your seat.

“Ilya?”

“Mm?”

“Could I come back tomorrow night? How long is the circus here?”

“I think we’re here for a week,” they said. “But you really don’t have to come back. I enjoyed my evening with you very much. Thank you for… tolerating me and my questions.”

You shook your head and reached for their paw-like upper hand, still resting on the bar top. The inky smoke that furled from between their fingers coiled instantly around you, brushing your skin and sending goosebumps along your whole arm. “You can read my emotions, right?”

They nodded.

“Can you tell how much fun I had then?”

Tilting their head, they seemed to read you more deeply, and then they chuckled. “I’m astonished,” they said honestly. “But yes.”

“Then you’ll know I’m telling the truth when I say I’d like to come back tomorrow.”

“Very well, yes,” they said, smiling and revealing their twin rows of sharp teeth. “I will meet you after the main show. Here?”

For the next three nights, you returned to talk with them. They told you all about being a familiar, and how their powers and strength had been channelled by the witch, who had also been their lover in the end, and how the two of them had run a small shop together. When the witch had died of old age, the demon had lingered on, heartbroken and alone, until Marisha, the sorceress, had found them and invited them to join the circus for a while.

“Initially I think she had hoped to bind me as her familiar, but she knew I didn’t want to be bound again, and she respected that.”

“Could she have done it? Bound you, I mean?” you asked, and they nodded.

“With difficulty, but probably, yes.”

“I’m glad she didn’t,” you said. “I’m glad she gave you a choice.”

A rumbling kind of purr rolled off them and they laughed and then sighed. “Sometimes I miss that connection though. It’s lonely.”

“Would you ever leave the circus?”

They shook their head. “I don’t think so. At least, I don’t plan to. Many demons would be disgusted by what I do - performing cheap tricks to please a crowd of mortals - but I actually enjoy it. I like to meet people and feel their lives as they live them. It makes me feel fully alive again in a way…”

Their foremost hand moved to rest atop yours, and you flipped your own over so that your palm pressed against theirs. They gasped and then laughed self-consciously. “What?” you asked with a nervous giggle.

“I… I can feel…” and all four of their amber eyes met yours. “You…” They parted their lips a little, as if tasting the air, and you shifted slightly in your seat. You’d been leaning slightly closer to them, and although your drink had no alcohol that night, you felt tipsy on their presence somehow.

“Are you sure you’re not some kind of incubus or succubus?” you blushed.

“Absolutely not,” they said. “I… No one has ever felt anything for me like this… Not since…” and you knew the name of their former beloved was on the tips of their two tongues. “Do you sincerely wish…? With me?”

You shrugged, a bit embarrassed. “Yes… You’re… alluring in a way I can’t describe. I guess I can’t hide that I’m attracted to you. Not from you anyway…”

“I’m sorry I cannot afford you that privacy,” they murmured, letting go of your hand and turning away.

“Stop,” you called softly, reaching for the shaggy mane of fur around their neck. In the glow of the fairy lights above you in the outdoor bar, you could see the soft glimmer of the ruby red stripes across their back, and beneath your palms their fur was unfathomably soft, almost intangible, like candle smoke. “Wait,” you said. “Wait. Please…”

“There is somewhere we could go,” they ventured shyly. “Somewhere more private. If you wished it.”

“Yes,” you said immediately.

With a nod, they pushed back off the bar and landed gracefully on all fours - well, all sixes, given how many paws they had - still almost as tall as you. The ground smoked and hissed beneath their paws as they walked, and the grass smoldered visibly.

“Ilya?”

“Mmm?”

“Are you… alright?”

With a chuckle, they nodded. “I’m not doing a very good job at disguising my own arousal,” they murmured, tail tucked between their legs.

“Oh.”

They led you to a tent and held the material back for you so that you could duck inside. It was small, sparsely furnished with a low bed of cushions and a fabric throw, and a small chest on the far side. Rugs of all colours and patterns decorated the floor, and the moment you were inside, you turned to face them and found them staring at you, eyes glowing bright in the darkness of the tent.

With a snap of their jaws, minuscule flames sprang up like tiny candles all around the edge of the tent, and they smiled softly. “Are you sure you’d like to do this?”

“Yes,” you said. “I want you…”

With that, they prowled closer and jutted their muzzle at the cushions behind you. You lay down and they used their two pairs of clawed hands to undress you, scenting you and rubbing their soft cheek against your thighs, making you shiver. Their two tongues soon got to work on you, and you began to heave and shudder as they worked you closer and closer, the leathery pads of their lower hands gripping your straining thighs, holding your legs apart as they sucked and licked while their upper hands worked their way up your body and teased your sensitive, hardening nipples. Their twin rows of teeth raked across your skin, their wide jaw surrounding you, laving your skin with their two tongues. It was like nothing you’d ever experienced and you were on the verge of orgasm when they drew back and stared at you.

A whining, desperate cry escaped you and you reached for them, trying to pull them back towards your body, but they resisted easily. “You’re exquisite,” they rumbled, their voice sounding both in your head and aloud which only made you more desperate with want. “Look at me,” they commanded in that strange, dual voice, and you obeyed.

Drool dripped from their softly-parted jaws, one tongue hanging out to the side slightly over their white teeth, and their eyes emitted a soft, red glow. Between their hind legs, you could just glimpse evidence of their own arousal, dripping pre-come messily onto the rug.

“I want you,” you whimpered. “Please…”

They drooled more pre-come onto the floor at that and growled softly. “I want to make you come,” they said, again speaking aloud in that terrible voice that sent a thrill of fear through you. Mistaking that for fear of them, they froze and stepped back.

“No!” you cried out. “Please! I… Your voice… I love it… I love what you do to me… look,” you said, parting your legs a little more to show them exactly what you meant.

They didn’t seem to have a cock as such, but as they neared you, you saw an opening in their fur and what might have been two large clitorises or two small cocks, slick with arousal and swollen. You reached for them, running your finger down between them and feeling them pulse. Ilya’s legs buckled and they half-collapsed and half-rolled onto the bed beside you, whining, legs kicking, mouth hanging open, tongues working idly as you circled around their sex.

Suddenly a rush of feeling that was not your own filled your consciousness, and you realised with a jolt that Ilya was sharing what they felt with you through the connection between you. As you ran your fingertip around and beneath first one and then the other of their sensitive bundles of nerves, their body jerked wildly and they leaked more wetness into your hand. Their clawed fingers grabbed your waist and your thighs and their jaws reached forwards desperately, clamping down over your whole shoulder joint as they rutted against you

Teeth raked across your skin, not hard enough to break it or draw blood, but enough that you groaned. The arousal you felt fed their own, and the two of you spiralled towards your own releases, unsure who was feeling what, sharing in everything, until Ilya came with a roaring howl that made your ears ring.

Their release rushed from them, spilling over your fingers as their body spasmed and clenched wildly, darkness and shadows broiling around you and enveloping you too, and you tipped over the edge a second later, which only seemed to drive them to further heights of pleasure. It took a long time for them to stop twitching and whimpering, but while they came down, you stroked the silky soft fur of their chest and murmured quietly to them.

Their ears twitched eventually and they opened their left eyes, licking their lips. “I…” they croaked, and then switched to an inaudible voice that spoke in your mind. “I have not felt that in… in a long time. Thank you.”

You grinned, slightly dazed yourself, and said, “I’ve never felt anything like that.”

Your fingers raked smooth furrows in their smoke-dark fur until you found the damp fur around their sex and they twitched their legs, paws and toes flexing as they groaned and shifted their hips, encouraging you to touch them in a particular spot.

“Again?” you asked. “Already?”

“I’m sure you can catch up,” they grinned, even as their thoughts dissolved into sensations as you began to tease them again.
