Here's a five sentence story for you from the giveaway (yes, I'm still releasing them on here! Just slowly!)

Discovering that the darkness that filled your closet was sentient had been a shock to say the least, but discovering that the creature - if a coalescing pool of darkness could be called such - wanted to communicate had come as an even greater surprise. 

But you’d been patient, and when it had made no attempt to hurt you, you had even reached out to touch it. 

To your surprise, the swirling darkness had hidden a soft, leathery body beneath the shifting shadows, and over time, you both grew in confidence until you would call out to your shadow friend when you came home, and they would melt from the darkness and embrace you; they could make no sounds, and you had quickly learned that this was their way of welcoming you home. 

Their comforting warmth was soothing after a long day, and the two of you enjoyed curling up on the sofa and watching a movie together with a takeaway dinner. 

So far their favourite was the spiciest thing on the menu.
