“I know I said we would take it slow, and I know I said that that included me not ‘wolfing out’ on you to start with, but I got so excited about seeing you again that I shifted on my way over here, and I’m so sorry…” he said in a huge, mostly-intelligible rush the moment you opened the door. 

You had to laugh at the sight of the ash-grey werewolf sitting on your doorstep with a bunch of slightly battered flowers in one hand-like paw, with his ears tilted backwards and his bushy tail wagging beside him. 

You stepped out and - because he was basically at the same height as you, even sitting - you threw your arms around his fluffy neck and hugged him. 

“I don’t mind you being what you are, silly,” you chuckled, feeling him exhale with relief and then tense up in surprise as you leaned back and planted a kiss on his smoky grey muzzle. 

He licked a shy kiss at the corner of your mouth and you reluctantly withdrew from the soft warmth of his chest, asking, “You want to come in then?”
