The music in the bar was loud, but not so loud that it masked the compliments of the patrons, directed at you, a little to your surprise and a lot to your boyfriend’s displeasure; the first few he let slide, but when you started to giggle - more in amusement than acceptance - he started to twitch and scowl.

Breathing deeply, he inched closer to you and slung his arm around your shoulder in an openly possessive gesture that should have told anyone with more than half a brain cell that you belonged to each other, and were not open to the interest of others. 

Either the minotaur was lacking that half brain cell, or was thinking with an entirely different part of his impressive anatomy, but he didn’t give up, and your drider snapped, snarling at him, rearing up to his full height before grabbing your wrist and hissing, “I can’t take this any more,” as he left with you laughing along by his side.
