The prompt for this one was essentially 'Instead of paint me like one of your french girls, it's sculpt me?'.

___

You glanced up as she stepped into the doorway of your main studio, silent and beautiful as a statue for a long time. Your hands were covered with the slurry of a particularly soft slip, and you took your foot off the pedal, letting the wheel slow. “Everything alright?” you asked and she nodded slowly.

It was unusual for her to be shy, and yet as she stood there, surveying you with her terracotta skin and honey-dark eyes, you knew something was troubling her. “Mmm,” she said, her gaze falling to the large bowl on the wheel in front of you.

“What is it?” you pressed, leaning back and fixing your whole attention on her.

“I…” she faltered. “I want a change…”

“A change?”

“Mmm,” she hummed.

“Rheia, what kind of change are you thinking?” you asked, catching on as she trod silently across the tiles of your ceramics studio and ran her smooth, clay fingertips around the rim of the bowl and hardly leaving a whisper of her presence behind.

With a coy tilt of her head, she murmured, “I’d like a little more shape here.” And with that, she slowly, archly, tantalisingly, nudged her hip towards your hand.

Slick with slip, you placed your palm on her naked hip, sliding up to the curve of her cheeks. “You’d like me to sculpt you a new form?” you asked, and she nodded.

“Mmm. I’d like… more…” she said, running her leather-cool fingers through your hair. “More for you to play with.”

You swallowed thickly at that. You loved her the way she was, the enchantment that kept her whole and supple crackling across her smooth, cool, clay body and rippling into you whenever she touched you. You’d brought her to life with the magic in your blood and the skill in your hands, and now she was asking for something in return for the first time in your acquaintance.

“Of course,” you croaked. Anything for her. “When?”

She eyed the half-finished bowl, knowing you couldn’t really leave it now.

“Later will do,” she crooned before turning from you with another smile and a loving look in her eyes. You’d never intended for her to stay with you. You’d made her as a companion for someone else, but she’d only been with them for a few years before she’d returned to you.

“Rheia,” you whispered as you watched her leave.

“I’ll be waiting for you in the other studio,” she promised.

With a nod, you tried to return your attention to your work again, but you knew this wouldn’t be one of your best pieces. Not by a long shot.
