Centaur? Yay or... *neigh*...?
- Yay! I'd love a story with him! 47
- Meh, I'd read it if you did one but I'm not fussed about centaurs 18
- Neigh. Focus on your other projects first, Ghosti (and stop with the terrible puns)! 2
I'm so sorry about the puns. I really am... I just couldn't help myself.
So anyway, anyone who's read the 'reader x interdimentional... eldritch... thing...???' monthly story from December 2019 may or may not remember the Appaloosa centaur, Derek, who featured very briefly, and I thought I might try and write him a story too, but I've also got lots of other things on the go... Hence, I ask you how keen you might be for his story? Depending on the general reaction to this poll, I may write him one, but it's up to you. I could always use it for one of my planned writing streams in the future though??? (if you like the sound of that, comment below).
As always, I don't think I can see who votes for what, so don't be shy about your answers. I shan't be offended by any outcomes! (If there is a way to see individual votes on here, I don't know it and won't be looking for it anyway!!!).
The next story up on here (soon!) will be the monthly story, featuring a NB alien x reader, so I hope you're keen! You told me in a poll in January that aliens were something that you wanted more of in 2020, so I'm here to oblige!
A reminder of the passage where Derek briefly appears (this is literally all we see of him in the story):
More than a few cars were dotted around the edges of the parking area, but as you stepped out and smoothed your new, fancy clothes down, you avoided looking at the square entrance to the mines, set into the cliffs above like a bezel-set piece of jet. A screech to your left made you jump, and seconds later you found yourself almost flattened to the ground by an Appaloosa centaur.
“Derek!” you wheezed, rubbing your ribs as he put you down. “Good to see you too!”
“It’s been almost a year since I came to visit you,” he grinned. “Can you believe it?”
“Has it really been that long? I’m sorry.”
He shrugged. He looked stunning in his black jacket with the tails of the coat spilling over his withers and shoulders, blending human torso with equine body. The round dots of chocolate brown colouring that spattered over the entirety of his white-coated body were as adorable and mesmerising as you’d always thought, and he laughed bashfully when he caught you staring. “Come on,” he snorted, stamping a hoof. “Let’s see if we can’t set you up with someone too - isn’t that what weddings are for?”
“Oh gods, please don’t,” you groaned but you let him lead you towards the festivities. In fact, Ki’ik was having her wedding between the trees in a small clearing not far from the tower that you’d known as children as ‘the Enchanter’s Tower’, or the ‘Lich’s Tower’. “Is Rhae officiating then?” you asked as you neared the rising hubbub of other gathered guests, and Derek nodded.
