Hey Patrons! I need your input on the length of the dispatch callout audio. Remember, you have 12 seconds to accept a call (either by pressing 'Y' or saying "dispatch show me en route"), and speaking with your microphone over longer audio can break your immersion somewhat. Many of you know you can always press your 'Y' key to accept the call. This lets you hear the full callout audio without interruption, and you'll be attached to the call even if the dispatcher is still speaking. Once they're done, you can then say 'Dispatch show me en route' to get your status updated. Why This Poll?

I might be able to add more expressive and realistic dispatch audio using a new language model. This would be more immersive, but some callouts could be up to 12-14 seconds long. I need your feedback on the ideal dispatch audio length to make this happen!I ATTACHED 2 EXAMPLES OF WAV FILES SO THAT YOU CAN HEAR THE DIFFERENCEOne is the current callout audio for Narcotics ActivityOne is a more detailed callout audio that may come to a new update.Note: You'll still get plenty of short callouts, but a few might be longer to provide richer, more immersive details.

Your feedback will help me fine-tune future updates. Please choose one of the options below:

Ayyy the more blueline dispatch audio lines the better. Can't wait for 3.0!

ICEWRLD

Is there a way to have it randomize the length from the same callout? 🤔

Velvet Thunder

It’s feels more realistic when the dispatcher gives you more intro and speak for longer

SandmanPlayz

From a content creation standpoint. Longer more immersive/tense audio I think is fantastic

keyser1700

As a retired officer I like the immersion, so longer audio feel more real.

Yes, on some occasions. For example if the callout author chose to pick the same crime audio with a different suffix. For example: CRIME_NARCOTICS_ACTIVITY CRIME_NARCOTICS_ACTIVITY_01 CRIME_NARCOTICS_ACTIVITY_02 You may get the same callout from same callout pack, but the callout may choose a different audio from the above selection if that makes sense. Unfortunately most callouts are not like that.

ICEWRLD

I see, in that case I say use your best judgment. Maybe listen to a few more departments on Broadcastify and see whats the average length (I’ll assume you’ve already done that though and getting a second a opinion) Great work! Can’t wait to see the end result

Gary

Can’t wait for this to happen and can’t wait for the scanner to be released. You have really made this game the best please keep up the great work

If i can make a suggestion, how about adding a short gap in the middle of the callout audio? I think i saw that in an LAPD live footage once it would go something like "all available units respond code 99 shots fired more information coming in ..... (Enough time to respond via microphone or pressing Y) ... The rest of the callout audio comes in however long it may be" maybe it'll be the best of both worlds .. just a suggestion 🤷🏻‍♂️

Love the longer audio man. Makes the game feel that much real.

Stephan Burgess

Yeah more audio sounds good more callout details so you have a better idea of what's going before you arrive on scene

ram val

better more then less lol

RWieber79

Love the longer version, sounds more realistic

I have heard some dispatch take up to 30 seconds sometimes :) That would be a bit too much, but at least I can be creative with the callouts.

Speedy

Of course longer the better for realism can’t wait for it

How about three tone beeps for high priority calls like robberies, burglaries and any other emergency calls that are in progress, I know that's what LAPD does when broadcasting these types of calls. Thank you for all you do for the realism within the LSPDFR community.

Minty5774

I also think that you could possibly simplify the initial callout, then provide much extensive information upon accepting the call.

Tachankachan716

Longer version no question! Sounds great btw

BlueLine Vibes

Would be nice, but unfortunately Grammar Police and LSPDFR does not allow that.

PCSimGuy

I always prefer more realism. Would be even better if I could find a way to accept using the controller. Most of the time I turn on my stage 3 ELS lighting and it accepts the call out but sometimes it will not or it cancels it right after I get to stage 3 lighting.

BlueLine Vibes

ACCEPT_CALLOUT_ControllerKey=DPadLeft within 12 seconds of callout

Any news about more gore update?

BlueLine Vibes

If I can keep my game stable without ScriptHookVDotNet from crashing every 15 minutes, I will hopefully get this done.

aletl

Try to update it please, when you fix scripthookvdotnet

Hello everyone, I have a question. Can the time for accepting a callout be adjusted somewhere in the lspdfr INI file? I haven't found the right one yet.

BlueLine Vibes

It's always within 12 seconds. Can't change that. You can press Y or Dpad left at anytime during the callout to auto attach
