We’ve all been there: Script Hook V asks for an update, you miss the click, and suddenly your launch is a mess of "Insufficient Permissions" and "Game Already Running" popups.

Stop worrying about the timing and just get rid of the message forever! It’s an easy fix with a side of "The More You Know" trivia that you didn't even care to know 😂

This didn’t really work for me. I just keep getting the screen that that says. Could not hook game process influence, permission or bad antivirus. Please try again.

Your message is pretty common actually. It should at least take away the need for an update message. Do the following steps as it will help, follow closely. Step 1 - I would restart your PC First as the game gets hung up with Social Club due to the message. Step 2 - Launch GTA 5 in STORY MODE (yes story mode) as soon as it starts to connect to Social Club, ALT TAB and then launch Rage Hook. It should connect better in the background.

Awesome, I've never gotten the 2nd part of the message or the loop but the Check for Ragehook updates is definitely annoying. I made the mistake of clicking of yes a couple times and it does nothing. Had to end task or restart the PC amd launch the game again to get past it. So this is awesome and especially since I am one of those on retail.

Try dragging out of your game directory and then right clicking and then go to properties, then details.

Oh, I understand what you meant. Back then, older versions of ScriptHookV didn’t have the update popup, but modern versions do. Because of that, you have to change the modern version’s hexadecimal value to match an older hexadecimal value from around the time when ScriptHookV didn’t show the update popup. So thank you for that information.

Yep, several years ago we didn't have to worry about that pop up message like this. Problem is, if you end up updating your game and needing a new Script Hook, have to start all over again. At least you are set for several months though. Personally I have my files backed up. If you are on Steam, I strongly encourage you to do this. That way you just stick to the same version probably until GTA 6 comes out on PC. I have videos over here on Patron on how to backup certain files.
