Multi Siren Install Guide - Fire, City, County & Highway (4 Sirens, No Mute)Note: This is an Advanced Guide - You must know the basic siren install first before watchihng a video like this. If you want a single siren install, then watch this one first.

We are installing 4 different sirens at once - Fire Truck, City, County, and Highway Division.

Most tutorials only show you how to swap in one or two sirens. This time we're stacking all four, editing the ELS.xml so each vehicle calls the correct tone, and keeping the file size under control the whole way through - so you don't end up with silent sirens by the end.

What's covered:

Installing 4 separate sirens (Fire Truck, City, County, Highway) in one pass

Editing ELS.xml so each vehicle pulls the right siren tone

Keeping vehicles.awc under the 16,132 KB / 15.75 MB threshold so nothing gets muted

Installing Dead Air and Muted Horns to reduce total size

NOTE: You do not necessarily need to use the below sirens. These are just suggestions.

Lol I just mentioned this in my last episode. I have 4 different police sirens: SS2000 for county / city; Mastercom B for township / del perro; Epsilon Howler for Paleto / Unmarked / Port Authority; and CHP Siren for SAHP / Airport / Park Rangers. I also have a separate Siren for both Ambulance and Furetrucks. It's so good

This is EXACTLY what I needed to get my sirens right. The part I kept getting confused on is how to get a quick, wail and priority for each dept. and I couldnt really figure out which names went with which. Mike - Wanted to say thank you. I almost got lost in that video. Not because of you, but because of me. My brain doesn't work like it used too.. After install, naturally went on duty and found a fire and loved that Q siren coming in. Appreciate that again....

what if i don't have a fire truck.xml file in the els folder? do i need to install a fire truck?

No problem Jeff. By the way, this type of video can get very confusing and if you miss a step it makes it that much harder. I am considering making a smaller video. Most do not want to install 4 sirens, so maybe I'll do one more with something a bit more straight forward. Main police siren and the Fire Siren.

That would mean that you do not have a ELS fire truck installed. There are plenty of ELS Fire Trucks on the main website lspdfr.com - when you download that, those will come with a firetruk.xml

The file should be called firetruk.xml - without the c in truck. Ive ran into that issues when I first started modding GTA xD. Maybe thats why you cant find it if you already installed one.

It would be a DLC addon that is a paid mod. I could do that, but it would be easier to just provide the link to where you can buy it. Currently no great way to replace that large ugly flashlight with a good DLC replacement. Wow, this is exactly what I needed...my sirens were totally jacked up with a mix between some custom ones I'd downloaded and the crappy defaults, and now everything sounds great! Great video!!! One suggestion to avoid having to do the muted audio (call me crazy but I actually feel like the AI horns add ambience), if you use Audacity and drop the sample rate on the custom siren tones to 16000, you can easily stay under the size limit, and I don't notice any decrease in quality in the game. And I take zero credit for that idea, thank you Gemini AI for coming up with that one lol

I know that it is a minor, maybe insignificant detail, but I am someone who messes with ELS files ALOT. I customize my patterns, usually program park patterns for my vehicles etc. I noticed in your firetruk xml you have little green writing lines that help indicate what each part of the file does (Sounds, Wrn, Prm, etc.) did you add that in yourself? Not sure if you could post an example xml for me to reference because I’d like to add that to my ELS files to help me mod them a little easier.

Hey Don, Sure, that is called a comment that you can add. Basically a note in which the XML file will not read the comment directly. Good for making notes if needed. You would need to use a XML editor like Notepad ++ which I am sure you already know about that. You would want to start the code and end the code like this. Then just fill in what you need for the wording for example. Unfortunately Patron will not allow me to put in code for the comment. Make sure there is no spaces between these. See that < ! - - (make sure those are not spaced out on both sides) < ! - - This is a comment - - > EDIT: I attached my firetruk xml at the bottom of the post, so you can use that as an example.

Hey Blueline, update on the DLS for this video. Just watched the whole thing through and it worked out perfectly! The only difference between ELS.xmls and DLS.xmls are the siren/Airhorn names. Great video BlueLine! Very informative!!

okay i followed every step but now my els buttons dont work anymore like when i press J my lights dont turn on or makes the beep sound and same with my sirens i want help

This video, we didn't touch the ELS.ini which controls the light function. We kept the siren under 16mb Sounds like you might have replaced your ELS.ini with something else prior to this tutorial or shortly after. just saw the other my bad , i don’t get notifications, but iv had to reinstall lspdfr like 2 times now bc of problems but now im missing alot my bad for asking again, i dont have no patch days or nothing atm and my els ,well my lights aren’t working and there’s a lot lol im having a buggy time so i apologize iv been trying to fix this for the past week
