I want to take a moment to clearly address how we are using AI generated comics within Bambi Ascension and what that means for the future of the project.

Yes, we will be making AI generated comics.

No, AI generated comics are not replacing our hand drawn comics.

Our hand drawn comics remain the core of Bambi Ascension’s major story progression. These are still the primary releases for the main comic arcs, key narrative events, major character developments, and the moments that define the direction of BAHP and BACU. Hand drawn work remains a major part of our identity, and we are not abandoning it.

AI comics are being used for a different purpose.

They are meant to support the project by giving readers additional content between larger hand drawn releases. Some of these AI comics may be canon. Some may function as side stories, filler entries, dream sequences, shorts, or smaller character focused episodes that run alongside the main story progression. However, they will not replace the main story comics or become the primary method for delivering the most important narrative moments.

The reason we are using AI comics is simple.

Hand drawn comics are expensive and time intensive.

A single hand drawn issue can cost anywhere from $1,000 to $3,000 to fully develop and release, depending on page count, artist rates, layouts, inks, colors, lettering, revisions, and production needs. It also takes a considerable amount of time to complete each issue.

There are many moving parts behind every release:

• Artist availability
• Multiple active comic projects
• Game development
• Real life and work responsibilities
• Quality revisions
• Plot development
• Script writing
• Character and saga planning

This is one of the reasons there are sometimes noticeable gaps between Patreon updates. Those gaps do not mean the project is inactive. In many cases, it means the work is happening behind the scenes in the form of scripts, planning documents, revisions, art coordination, and production preparation.

AI comics allow us to provide more frequent entertainment and visual content while those larger hand drawn projects continue moving through the pipeline.

Think of AI comics as an additional content stream.

Not a replacement.

They help keep the world active. They give us room to explore smaller ideas, character moments, side scenes, experimental concepts, and shorter releases that would otherwise be difficult to justify as full hand drawn productions.

Our goal is to create a healthier balance:

Hand drawn comics for major story progression and flagship releases.
AI generated comics for supporting content, side stories, canon filler, shorts, and additional entertainment between larger releases.

This approach lets us keep building the universe while also respecting the cost, time, and effort that goes into hand drawn art.

I understand AI is a topic people have strong opinions about, and I respect that. My goal is to be transparent about how we are using it and why. We are not using AI to erase artists from Bambi Ascension. We are using it to help maintain momentum while we continue funding and developing the hand drawn work that remains central to the project.

To everyone supporting the comics, scripts, game development, character work, and worldbuilding, thank you.

Your support helps us keep the hand drawn pipeline alive while also allowing us to experiment with new ways to provide content between major releases.

Bambi Ascension is still growing.

The hand drawn comics are still here.

And AI comics are simply one more tool we are using to keep the hunger fed.

Stay Hungry.
